Yea I spent countless hours in this game, then I get two characters to rank 5 and one rank 4 in Iron banner thinking im doing something getting the IB gear...and all of this is already a waste of time, unreal.

How was it a waste of time getting the IB gear? I did the same with my three characters and I don't feel like I wasted my time at all. From what I took from the release notes, vendors will sell armor that gets you to level 30. If you already have boots and gauntlets from IB, you'll need to purchase less armor to get you into the new raid. The new raid gear (plus upgraded exotic gear) will get you to level 32, which will let you do the hard mode raid when it comes out.
