PvP in Patrol (Deej read this)

[b]Bungie did not achieve the full potential when giving us the option to free roam with patrol.[/b] We have a somewhat good time in patrol but we've only been given so much to do for such large worlds to play in. What I suggest is that we are given the opportunity to select a button (I'll call it the "PvP enable/disable" button) in the "character" or "settings" section of the start menu that [u]allows us to [i]harm and be harmed[/i] by [b]other players on patrol[/b] who also have that button activated[/u]. When this button is activated other players, who also have it activated, [u]will be able to see our name, level, and health bar just like in the Crucible.[/u] And level advantages will follow the same rules as the iron banner. [u]And if the "PvP enable/disable" button is too complicated or just isn't the idea that Bungie wants to go with, I have another suggestion that follows the same idea.[/u] [i]Instead[/i] of the "PvP enable/disable" button, [u]there could be another type of patrol which is colored [b]red instead of green[/b].[/u] [b]This type of patrol[/b]would [i]still have enemies that spawn in caves and what-not[/i], it would [i]still have destination materials and chests[/i], it could [i]possibly still have public events[/i], and [i]still have patrol missions[/i]. And this part is just [u]more ideas[/u] that would make PvP patrol an [i]even[/i] better experience: •Have a new type of currency for PvP patrol •Have a new vendor to spend this new currency on •Have a new reputation status with the new vendor •Have new types of bounties specifically for PvP patrol •Have defeated players drop new engrams •Require a certain minimum level to participate (somewhere from 10 to 20) •Allow fireteams of up to 6 players (friendly fire not enabled within individual fireteams) •Have new public events that relate to PvP patrol •Place vehicle spawn points around the planet •New armor, weapons, armor shaders, emblems, and class items that can only be earned through PvP patrol •New Patrol missions that relate to PvP patrol And [b][i]if[/i][/b] [u]required[/u] for some reason, PvP patrol could be a[b] new event[/b] like "The Queen's Wrath" or "The Iron Banner" [b](edit):This could also go along with the iron banner to satisfy players who aren't big fans of the crucible[/b]

  • My biggest complaint in crucible is the bounties. There shouldn't be any bounties pvp only for pve. All their maps are close quartered and cluttered with shit everywhere. 75-80% run with shotgun and fusion rifle as their main weapon. There is 40-50% run blink making it almost impossible to dodge one hit weapons. This type of pvp system is not competitive at all.

    • While this idea is good it would also be very frustrating for new players and people making new chars. When I used to play wow I always used to play on PvP servers. But because this game has different factions getting ganked wasn't always a problem as opposing factions had to come into enemy territory to attack low level players but had to deal with high level npcs along the way. Destiny players are all part of the same faction and level in all the same areas and farm in all the same areas so I doubt this would ever work

      • I would certainly like to see this, but what would you propose about differences in level? After all you have people level 5 sharing the same space as level 30's. Personally a simple tiered system as followed could work; Lvl 1-5 Lvl 5-10 Lvl 11-15 Lvl 16-20 Lvl 21-30 This would mean you don't get level 30's griefing new players. There would also have to be a period after spawning where other players can't damage you so you don't get killed right after spawning. (Needless to say you can't kill during that time) Another thing would be more spawn locations across the map in patrol.

        • Bump. Solid idea. This would add some level of difficulty to Patrol missions. I dislike that everything in Patrol is so low leveled and public events can be easily achieved without the threat of death. Sure I've died during Patrol missions, but that's usually because I'm being arrogant and act like I am truly invincible (even though I'm not).

        • Always been a fan of open world pvp. Unlike most mmo's though, You can snipe people across a zone rather than being within an abilities range. Could be interesting though, if done right. This would make an amazing weekly event.
