The Destiny Mats for marks debacle

Crucible rewards should be for those who invest time in crucible. People shouldn't have been able to buy marks in the first place. This is embellished but imagine the world of destiny a real place. This is how mat exchange used to be like: "Hey, quartermaster... I've found some stuff I picked off rocks at Mars. Oh and this glowy crap from Venus. I guess you can rub it all over your gun and it makes it hurt more. Am I cool enough to trade it for that specialized machine gun that is only awarded to men & women who strive to excel at the highest level of guardian competition?". Regardless of the arbitrary importance of mats, The Qmaster would smack that person upside the head, revoke his guardianship and force him to work in the mess hall, spooning out baked beans for everyone else after strike missions. He would do this because the crucible cannot be bought! It is a sacred thing to these people. Blasphemy! Dumb mechanic was dumb. The PvE vs. PvP crowd is a needed duality in games like this. Letting people get crucible gear without playing it is dumb. Plenty of vanguard stuff for the PvE folks to get. Now why Bungie made the faction stuff only purchasable via crucible marks is dumb. You should be able to choose either type to spend. Thoughts?

  • I actually agree, I play both pve & pvp but I have 3 characters and only use one of them for the crucible, this means that 2 of my characters will never get the factions armour or weapons unless I can use vanguard marks to buy them
