I absolutely hate the queen helmet for my Titan. Thank god I finally got the raid helmet. I too am hoping they up the light level. You'd be able to hit 30 with queens helmet and chest piece, and iron banner gloves and boots. I know some of the community will be outraged that they did it through the raid 100%, but i don't think that was Bungie's end game. I think they underestimated the speed with which it would become "easy". For anyone stressing out over the level 30s not running the raid, I honestly don't have the words, but I'll say this: If the only way to 30 was the raid, literally everyone would look the same minus 1 exotic piece of armor. Now, with iron banner (and hopefully queens armor), there are more cosmetic options to achieve end game level cap. Why should something as simple as level cap be exclusive to one instance? This isn't that kind of game. You could always hit level cap in wow without raid gear, right? Raid gear set you apart with better and more unique items. The Destiny raid should not be the only way to max your level. That's too basic of a concept to be ignored. Everyone should have the opportunity to max their level. Don't be upset that you got in so early the game hadn't spread its wings yet. Players entering now are going to enjoy the things we've been fussing about. Final comment: Giving the general community a path to level 30+ means bungie can make the raid much harder because they can anticipate that more people will be going in geared and ready. And let's not forget that these are timed events. Many people will not take full advantage of queen missions, and new players will definitely not be able to. I completely missed the iron banner while traveling for work. Not everyone is 30 yet. Still fun to be had.

  • All those "raidless 30s" either aren't gonna do the next raid either, or there going to suck because they don't have the experience raiding that all of us current 30s do. Im not referring to people who get screwed by rng, I'm talking about never raided lvl 30s (only possible in your hypothetical queens event) and frankly them hitting 30 wouldn't be fair because they didn't do the "hardest" part of the game like the rest of us did.

  • That's kind of my point though. Level cap shouldn't be dependent upon completion of the hardest game content. The best gear should be. Level cap is just one element of achieving end game goals. Having THE best end game gear is a different story. Also, if the raid-less 30s have never done a raid, and matchmaking is never implemented, how does their gear impact anything outside their own experience? It's a bit arbitrary right? You'll continue to raid with your friends, those guys will raid with their own friends... And of course VoG experience will matter very little in the new raid. So 25+ raid completions against Atheon will mean nothing for the first few teams who attempt Crota. After week 1 (hell maybe even day 2-3), someone will post a YouTube video of how to beat the new raid. A couple weeks later (if that) it will be easy mode like the VoG. I just don't understand the heartburn over people hitting level cap without experiencing the raid content. I'm trying to understand. Please don't troll. If anything, maybe the raid gear should come with an extra mod that makes it tempting to acquire (therefore better), but definitely not REQUIRED.

  • They could honestly just make the gear something you can buy from the vendor at a certain rank, so it's not too easy, but still a grind to get the gear. That may be better than simply handing out legendary gear at the end of each story mission.

  • True. Very true. A queens marks system I guess. It's a shame that all of the loot would then be bought on this system of grinding "marks" to level up faction reputation to buy exclusive gear... Carbon copy system :/
