I'm sorry but I can't for the life of me understand the mentality that prefers running from point a to point be and holding a button to an intense gunfight between two teams. Regardless of whether or not you think to balanced, you experience some lag, or you don't like competition, it's STILL gotta be more fun than farming. I would rather go into the crucible and die 15 times and get no kills than farm materials. What a tedious time waste. It had no engaging gameplay, it utilized little to no of the excellent shooter mechanics bungie has in destiny, and it offered little reward for time invested. My mind wants to explode when I hear people loved material farming. Do these same people also enjoy thumb twiddling and staring at walls?

  • You're looking at this like a PVP player forced to play PVE. Of course your mind numbed. You had to focus on one recourse to achieve your goal to get back into PVP. I on the other hand enjoy being in the game alone. It's not farming. It's being on patrol. You run missions. You complete bounties. You enjoy the art around you. You perform sparrow tricks. You shoot the Ai. You take on public events. You collect material. You play the game. Done. And just repeat. Before you know it you have 200 crucible marks. The factions have some Gear with good stats. You have three alts that need gear. The Vangaurd shoulder look ridiculous. So you say I like those Dead Orbit gloves. For -blam!- sake this isn't rocket science of the mind in player motivation to aquire items in a video game.

  • Sorry but patrols are just not engaging for me. Maybe the first 10 that i did were interesting but take into account the fact that you are running through areas you go through for story already and it becomes very stale. The enemies you kill are weak and pose no threat so the gunplay is very boring. Doing tricks on the sparrow can be amusing at most for a few minutes. The crucible is dynamic and no match is ever the same. You don't have time to be bored. You feel adrenaline surge through you when you get a Multi kill. You face intense highs and lows through competition. I'll take that over killing weak dregs and looking at areas I've seen a thousand times. Kudos to you for finding some enjoyment from repeating this exercise in the mundane over and over. Every day life must be a thrill for you. Wish I could have that

  • Don't pat yourself on the back too hard. I've seen Destiny's dynamic PVP. It's about as engaging as reading the paper on a crapper.

  • Destiny PVP is solid but very vanilla. They need to introduce way more to make it standout.

  • Granted, they could do a lot more to make pvp more interesting and I hope they will do that as soon as possible. More game types, vehicles, etc would be great. That's besides the point though. My point is, it's a hell of a lot more dynamic and engaging than doing a patrol

  • +. I just wish gear mattered in PVP, like in old school MMORPGPVP arenas. Iron Banner come close and I enjoyed the hell out of it, but the maps got boring and after a while the fights all felt similar.
