Casuals can to do everything in the game, just like everyone else can, but you have to make an effort. I am not a casual, but I do the raid with randoms every week using this forum. Don't use the word casual as an excuse for laziness.
Casuals raid in mmorpgs like wow just fine they make take longer to get there but they still can do it. Plus in a lot of games that have raids there are casual guilds/clans out there that are more relaxed than joining a hardcore raid/pvp guild/clan.

I don't think casuals are lazy, it just goes against some reasonable norms with this game design. Matchmaking is better than clans/guilds for us. The casual relaxed gamer doesn't always play when I want and is probably done with Destiny anyway. I just really like the sci-fi feel it has. Oh well.
