I was just kicked for being too young
I was playing the Vault of Glass with some people, and I realized they were Iron Banner 30s. I didn't mention it, but then we got to the gatekeepers. 3 People died every time on the first portal outside. After a few times, I asked them how that was possible, and one instantly started hating on me. He called me a squeaker because I am 13 and haven't hit puberty. We were doing perfect in the raid and we were all laughing at some point. I told him to shut up and he told me,"Sorry, I can't play with someone as young and bad as you." And he booted me. I mean WTF?? We went through it as a team and he ended it there. Why is the community so rude?
Edit 1: We were playing NORMAL with five 30s and one 29, the 29 with me and another 30 in the portal.
Edit 2: Okay, I deleted "fake" because that isn't true, you are correct. They just got 30 a different way than me and have less experience with the raid.
Edit 3: These responses are overwhelming! Was gonna reply and give my thoughts to all of them, but there is no way I can now!

There just jerks. I've only ran into 1 group that kicked me, and it was because they thought I was 30 since I was with my friend who was 30 even though I said I was 29. They proceeded to do the raid, but my friend just left them once the hit oracles for the CP. When getting messaged, "sorry," I just said, you had your chance.

Any party can play with who they choose. 15 should be the minimum age for games like this, games you will play with adults. I have iron banner gear on one of my 30s, thats totally irrelevant to skill. I understand they sucked and definitely should not be dying (on normal). However if you sound like a little whining b or a little kid that doesnr know everybody is not his mom then backlash is only natural. Anyone can be kicked for anything. Simply move on and prove your worth. Im not saying you did any of the above, but being a crybaby doesn't work, sadly you were born into a media era that makes that promise at every outlet.

I was annoying when I was young but I was shy as well so that kinda of prevented me from being too annoying. One thing that is a clear indicator that they are overly excitable (which is fine btw but some people get annoyed by abundance in energy) is things like your Edit 3. I personally can't stand when people say things like " this is AMAZING" or "OVERWHELMING RESPONSES" no you haven't even hit 2 pages of replies yet!!! And it's just a forum reply it's not AMAZING or OVERWHELMING!!!!! I guess us oldies are just grumpy old farts anyways, that get annoyed at enthusiasm, you'd do well to stay away from us lol.

There reasons for kicking you were probably wrong. They did it out of anger But i personally wouldnt have you on my team for two reasons Adult conversation being the main one And i really cant handle a high pitched voice in my headset

Are you sure you weren't the problem? I don't kick people or leave fireteams because they make mistakes, most raids go like that and then people get coordinated and we get it done. I do, however, kick people who are annoying. Especially people who think they are amazing because they got the drops earlier than others did.

Nothing is more annoying than when someone dies in a raid party and another person freaks out over it. They are just as frustrated as you are about it, ragging on them or trying to make them feel bad about it is not an appropriate way to motivate your team through the Raid. (Not to mention, this is all just a videogame and we're all here to play and have fun). I hope in the future you will be more humble and ASSIST the members of your raiding party, because the raid is supposed to be about strategy and TEAMWORK. Talking down to your team members doesn't help you or anyone else accomplish anything. I think it was good that they kicked you from the group for your behavior detrimental to the team. It is my hope that you will have learned a valuable lesson about what it means to be a part of a team.

1 ReplyI was about to pull the "well you shouldn't be playing because you aren't 17" card but then I realized Bungie cut half the stuff they wanted to get a T rating so squeakers could play.

More power to you dude. I hate when people mess up and instead of correcting their mistakes they just blame someone else and use them as a scapegoat. Honestly I wouldn't group with those people ever again. Maybe even name shame them, but that's just me. Hopefully your next raid group won't be such a-holes.

People don't like listening to squeakers, go find someone to buy you some cigarettes before hand and smoke the whole pack before the raid starts. You will have that pleasant raspy voice and not get kicked
