How is this possible? Recording fireteam chat!

My friend, gamertag: mavFIVE, has the unintended ability to record team voice chat. You can see this happening in his uploaded game clips at the link I provided. He is able to record other members of the fireteam, but not himself. Usually, it's only one fireteam member whose voice is recorded, however last night the other two members of his Skirmish team voices were recorded. It's important to note he has no third party hardware and no Kinect. My voice is audible in some of his game clips and I am just using the standard microphone that came with the Xbox One and I also have no Kinect. We are simply trying to ascertain how this is happening. We do want to be able to record voice chat, but so far, his is the only system which seems to be able to do it. We'd like to be able to record everyone's voice, rather than just one or two other people. I spoke with a representative from Xbox support and they were just as dumbfounded as we are. So far, we've only observed this on Destiny, but haven't tried to test it with any other games. This has been happening even before the most recent patch that Destiny released (which added increased voice options), so I'm not sure that had any effect on this particular situation. Is there something specific to Destiny that makes this possible? Obviously it's happening, so it's possible. But we just want to know how so we can replicate it on the rest of our systems. HALP!
