PROOF of Fake 30's
At first I didn't really care about the whole REAL and FAKE 30's discussion until I played the raid today with a FAKE 30. He had 2 pieces of Raid gear and exotic helmet and IRON BANNER Guantlets. Everybody in the fire team seemed to know what they was doing until we got to the Confuxes he didn't even know you couldn't be revived! So I asked have you done the raid on hard? His answer was no when they said you could get to level 30 from iron banner gear I just felt no need to do the hard raid. We did finally finish but we had to carry him through.
I don't believe every 30 that had to do Iron Banner to get there is fake or bad but I finally see why people call them fake.
What are your opinions on the FAKE and REAL 30's?

30 is 30 end of! What if you prefer the look of IB over the VoG? What if you prefer the upgrades or the "intellect/discipline/strength" the IB gives you over the VoG? If you don't want these "fake 30s" doing the raid with you don't its simple!

1 ReplyWell over the weekend I was the fake 30 who did his first hard raid and was carrying my "real" 30 teammates. You can look and see, both games I had the first or second KD and I never caused the wipes. Good is good. I got shafted by RNG and got my IB gauntlets for it. First hard raid, I got my second and third chest, second pair of legs, helmet, but still no helmet.

He'd still be 30, People use the term "fake" 30 as an insult...period..in order to stir the pot. He would still not have known about the lack of revive at conflux in either case..IB gaunts or lucky 3rd piece of raid gear. People need to learn to be patient and to offer instruction to first timers. Most of those judging others were either carried through at some point themselves or watched others do the raid on YouTube. This community is just way too toxic these days.

1 ReplyI am a 29, need one more piece to be 30. I have never run the hard mode. If i get that piece and level it will I be a "fake" 30? I mean who says I have to know every aspect of the game to be a 30. I just had to put the time in to get gear. I have no IB gear either as I rarely play PVP. Just means I havent had the opportunity to do hard mode.

But hunter exotic helm is better. Point is 20 completions no arms? 4 or 5 comp. on titan full raid gear? I hate it so much dont even play him[/spoiler]

2 RepliesI wouldn't call him fake, he just took a different route. It works both ways. An IB 30 can be horrible at the raids, while a raid 30 can be horrible at crucible.

1 ReplyI have all raid armor for my titan and all the current IB gear. I know what I'm doing lol We beat normal and hard in about an hour this morning. Got the Vex again & praedyth's timepiece. I like to wear the IB gauntlet's for the auto rifle reload. For some people sure they're a different type of 30 but to call them fake is bs. I actually put in work in iron banner, I didn't just stand there. I made the team win more times than I lost. I've never collected five IB medallion's at once. Some people actually earned 30 through IB. But I do see your point.

I've run the raid over 15 times with completions on hard and normal. I know exactly what I'm doing and if a wipe does occur it's normally never my fault and my kill score is testament to it. I know exactly how to use the relics. I can go home or away at atheon, I can left, right or middle at the confluxes and when forming the spire. I know the sniper spots. I'm also happy to help noobs and patient. I also get very regular invites from people I've played with before to do it again. Despite all this I have never ever received a single piece of raid armour. Not one. So I grinded the IB to get the boots and gloves. Those with an exotic makes me 29 & 3/4. Your argument is wrong.

2 RepliesI'm all about the iron banner gear. I made a new character especially for it. My warlock is now 29 with 2 bits of iron banner and an exotic helm. I've run the raid countless times on hard and only just got the boots a week before the iron banner on my first guy so I thought -blam!- it I'll make my warlock I've always wanted and smash out the open banner to get at least the boots since they are the oh thing that you can't replace with an exotic the. I got the gloves from level 4. I already had at least 1 exotic for each helm chest and gloves and also for when I make a titan one day. Ended up doing the raid on normal when I was 26 with just the boots so I could see it I would get some gear but no all shards then atheon epilogue and a chatter fml. Then liked up to get the gloves and once 29 hit the hard raid again and all I got was shards 1 gloves and fate bringer on atheon so now I'm stuck till I do the raid this week but as long as I get one piece I will have 30 within 2 weeks (:

1 ReplyYou can get to 30 without doing the hard raid as well. Fact is, some people suck... And a lot of them are level 30s. This was the case before Iron Banner and will still be the case after.

A friend of mine recently got 30 off of his two pieces of IB gear but I still have faith he can do the raid (having done it so many times accompanying me and getting an equal share of bad luck)

I mean, I did research before I did hard mode the first time (so I knew about the no revive and detain elements), but in terms of level, I only attempted hard mode once I hit 30. All I got from your post was that the person found a way to get to 30 and then decided to try hard mode. Kudos to him for getting to 30 before attempting it. Don't really care how he got there.

1 ReplyThe bitterness welling up in some folks that have been cracking out and taking a beating from the RNG monster for weeks and weeks in the VOG to hit 30 is so transparent. They simply can't cope with the fact that the IB way is a valid option not involving the beast. I would also wager that it is just the beginning of non RNG ways to level up so it will likely get worse before they finally realize/come to terms with the fact that they are the authors of their own fate. Me, I am not a fan of leaving things to chance and I am also not in a hurry. I am at my pre-DLC goal.
