PROOF of Fake 30's
At first I didn't really care about the whole REAL and FAKE 30's discussion until I played the raid today with a FAKE 30. He had 2 pieces of Raid gear and exotic helmet and IRON BANNER Guantlets. Everybody in the fire team seemed to know what they was doing until we got to the Confuxes he didn't even know you couldn't be revived! So I asked have you done the raid on hard? His answer was no when they said you could get to level 30 from iron banner gear I just felt no need to do the hard raid. We did finally finish but we had to carry him through.
I don't believe every 30 that had to do Iron Banner to get there is fake or bad but I finally see why people call them fake.
What are your opinions on the FAKE and REAL 30's?

There a bunch of people that haven't done the hard raid that are lvl 30..... Not just iron banner

However at one point you had never run the raid on hard and a group was nice and let you experience the hard raid. So instead of coming here and complaining maybe you should look at it from a positive view point you helped someone learn the hard raid so that one day that person can help others make their way through the raid. Level 30s are determined by luck. So you should ask the proper questions when forming your party. Ask them to explain the fights? You could ask them what they do when someone dies. I say this because my friend is a 30 and has completed the raid 2 times. He could not lead a group through the raid nor would he make a decent hard mode raider because he has no raid weapons. I do the raid two to three times a week I always carry the relic and I usually lead groups through the raid. I also beat the hard mode raid with 4 29s so get people who can work as a team. More 30s are better for the game it means there is more people to help the 29s reach 30. Even if you need to help a few of the new 30s learn we all will be better off when there are more people for the hard raid.

I must be fake then... lol I was 29.75 with the raid and needed to work iron banner to get gauntlets. I'm 30 by a mix of both... which I think is the whole point of the game. Balance is key. Be good at both!

Your account is flawed in association with your logic. I plan on becoming 30 before I beat hard. I've ran hard. Just not all the way. I know every aspect of the raid.

Well, since light level is measured in light and the game wouldn't assign the number "30" to anyone with less than 120 light, all 30's are real. How skilled they might be at one thing or another is a different story. And you can reach 30 without ever stepping foot in the hard raid. My Hunter and Titan are both missing raid helmets, and my Warlock has a Mythoclast, a helm, and IB boots. I've also got four Timebreakers and two Aspects of Glass. Am I less real of a 30 because I got bored of hard raid before my Titan (my main) and Hunter got helmets as drops? Or because I decided to play PvP with friends instead of repeating the same boring raid over and over with only RNG dictating whether I reach 30 or not? There are too many great games out right now to still be worrying about playing the same shit over and over and over. I spent last week primarily doing Iron Banner and actually enjoyed myself. But I went in there based on the premise that I won't be playing any more Destiny until the dlc drops. I might drop in for some PvP, but the PvE has long grown stale. If your self-worth is attached to your level in Destiny, you need to reprioritize your life. Even if that just means buying any one of the other games currently out, I'd still recommend it. Take a vacation, spend time with your family, go on a date. Having a big dick in Destiny, or any videogame if you're not pro, is equivalent to being the world's fastest backwards bicycle rider. No one gives a shit, and they wonder why you tried so hard to be good at something no one cares about.

Probably because he never got the chance to do raid on hard because he was never 30 therefore nobody took him in? Think before you make this thread 30 is 30. I best hard raid with all IB 30's and we beat the last 2 parts of it in under 10 minutes

I think getting to level 30 is fine through the iron banner as its so close to the new dlc and if you can't get the gear, no matter how hard you try and try again. But. It is their fault if they don't even take the time to even try normal first. Thinking you are level 30 makes you automatically capable of doing the raid is stupid. Imo

When I log in and I see someone is level 30, guess what there isn't anything fake about it. From a technical standpoint a level 30 is a level 30. When I played Iron Banner I saw a lot of "fake" level 30's who never PVP hop on and do pretty crappy. They just didn't have the experience. Conversely with the raid I have to teach my friends who are now level 30 how to do hard mode. At least I get to do the challenge with my friends.

There are no real or fake level 30s. There are only skilled players and players who suck ass.

2 Replies30 is 30 in my opinion... I wouldn't expect an iron banner 30 to be as good as a fully raided out guy who's done the raid 40 times. Likewise I don't expect a 30 raid master to come in and be boss at PvP. I am sure there is overlap in these situations, but for the most part they are two different type of people excelling in these areas. That said I feel like Bungie is trying to encourage people to experience every part of the game (Exotic bounties for example). I would not be surprised if at some point they want make it where you need armor from both PvE and PvP to reach the max level. I like most people on the forum (if polls are accurate) prefer PvE, but I definitely feel like making PvP a requirement makes it a richer experience for me personally. I don't care what it takes for me to get to 30, I just want to get to the next raid and enjoy it. I'm just a filthy casual who plays games for fun though, so that's my two cents.

I believe, by your standards, that if you don't have both Full Raid Armor and IB armor, you're not a real 30. You are only focusing on one aspect of the game, "pure" raiders are a joke on the crucible and PVP players are a joke on the raid. This game is about both. If you didn't make it to rank 5 on IB and you don't have full raid armor, you are a scrub.

you can get to 30 after being carried through a few normal raids and still be horrible at it, let alone be nowhere near ready for the hard raid. Look at peoples raid clears not their level.

It's not fake it's just a different method of getting there, just like WoW there's pvp gear and pve gear.

30 is 30 end of! What if you prefer the look of IB over the VoG? What if you prefer the upgrades or the "intellect/discipline/strength" the IB gives you over the VoG? If you don't want these "fake 30s" doing the raid with you don't its simple!
