#GRIND

Why do MMO's Grind?

Why is "grinding" seen as an essential element in massive multiplayer online games, and who would say such a thing? I can only see it as an addictive basic pleasure-impulse thing in some people. It's not exactly healthy or fun for most of us, and Destiny was a huge launch that even had it's own white ps4 edition. It's a game that shouldn't just appeal to the Everquest and WoW players. This game is reduced to a grind at it's basic level. The content? stripped and watered down! I thought mmos were mostly rpg's but they're just elitist grinders? Wtf? Good RPGs don't feel so grind heavy! They have real content so they don't have to pathetically create grinds to increase play times. Sure, I've gotten a lot of play out of destiny but the vast majority of those hours were watered down garbage!

  • Rpg's brought grinding to the mix so mmo's thought "hey let's prolong the games lifespan by implementing grinding just shits and giggles... And there you have it
