Bungie needs to give us like, flare guns to get peoples attention...

Double tap up on the dpad to "motion guardian over" or something like that

Something like that would be nice, quick, and easy to use for those on-spot situations. That or have voice chat active so nearby players could year you say something.

I really wanted proximity chat when this game came out, but I've realized it would mostly be background noise (music, kids jabbering, parents yelling at kids, people having conversations irl.) I bet it would be more annoying than usefull. I will send a party invite if the usual wave and point doesn't get a players attention, but a flare gun or "motion over" emote would be nice.

You got that right. I've used half my ammo tonight and pointed and waved and danced, but no takers. Then again, if players don't get this technique, I can understand them avoiding (what appears to them to be) some crazy fool shooting, waving, pointing, and dancing.

Yeah... I sometimes feel a bit crazy jumping and shooting at someone to get their attention, only to have them turn and look at me (or I assume in my direction) and just... stare, for a bit before hopping on their speeder bike and riding off.

Or they could just make the point gesture more dynamic. When you point at a person it puts it in the feed ie: "JTRANK THE TANK dances with Foehammer2" I dont see why it would be too hard to do the same with anything you can interact with in the environment ie: "JTRANK THE TANK points to spirit bloom"

I think that could work very well as long as Bungie doesn't mess with how close/far someone is and still see update text. It seems like it's Almost zone based, maybe half a zone atm? I lose track but I have seen updates when people produce light orbs as well as 'player is near'.
