How about instead of calling it a flame thrower, how about an element thrower. Because they all wouldn't do just Solar damage, they can do Ark, or Void, or even Kinetic damage as well. The Ark could bounce along the ground, the Void could have dark spots along the ground, and Solar can just stick to the ground like fire does, all after being fired indirectly, and doing less than half of the damage it would if it was a direct hit, except the Kinetic would stay for a way shorter time but deal the same about of damage and would be a "NO HEAD SHOT WEAPON". The Element thrower would be an amazing weapon to have because you can lay down some impressive cover. This would be a heavy weapon for sure. And it would be interesting to see each one fire in a different ways, like instead of a stream, it could be in balls, or even a beam in rare cases, hell even a mist type would be cool, each would have cool.
