NEEDS to happen. It really doesn't need a complex mechanic to then take Bungie months developing and testing. All we need is what the free to play(!) DC Universe Online does brilliantly. All the assets are there! We just need a copy and pasted UI menu! An 'appearance' or 'style' UI, very similar to the 'character' UI, where the styles of armour are stored for all the armour you found, decrypted or were awarded - even if you have dismantled it!!! We would still grind for the stats of our "true" armour but I wouldn't lose interest in the game due to looking awful and like every other hunter out there... :(
I've just had to change my AWESOME PS4 exclusive gauntlets for some that have blue muck spilt down one arm - hence my passion ;) Some of the legendaries are just awful - and I was looking SO badass!

Ha; I've actually just took a hit DOWNGRADING to escape snakeskin rags for a fancy jacket! IDK why the crucible awarded me gear lower powered than my current rating, but at least I have a cool look again (first time since lvl 12, lol)

DCU did do a great great job with customization. Makes me want to fire that one up

If only DCUO had the production values of Destiny, I'd never have put it down! There was never a chance I'd have ground through all those feats to get 90+ though -- the rewards simply aren't there. Yet. In DCUO, you grind to craft a really cool, fresh toon, but then... for what? To watch Sinestro do his cut-scene salsa dance like some kind of flamenco nut? To watch an invisible Two-Face goon get blown up by a robot penguin that explodes like a party popper? To slave over a league hall (cavernous pile of nothing) only for 60% of your league to desert you because they CBA to contribute to a league in spite of promotions, and then start their own leagues (because OBVIOUSLY that will be completely different). That game has it's issues too. But both could learn a lot from one another. Although perhaps not the flying tiddlywinks from the "skimming" update XD
