I understand your situation and you didn't deserve that. The issue causing this is the level capping which creates this class issue between 29's and 30's and results in raid spamming of the 30's. Honestly you read the forums jorx....so many 30's shut people out. It goes from everyone helping everyone else out to 30's only (again, not all, but a lot). Unfortunately it creates a perception of being elitest. I know that's NOT what you're doing...but unfortunately there are 30's that are that give ALL 30's a bad name. Likewise it puts 29's in a place of desperation and in a defensive place. 29's shouldn't be quick to assume when a 30 politely says no that it's because they themselves are not a 30. Either way, everyone needs to practice civility out there. As a 29 myself t has gotten very frustrating for 30's being "30 only". The spirit of doing VoG has changed from getting together with a bunch of people to having conditions placed and almost feeling you have to have an exclusive pass to get in as a 29. Everyone needs to learn to be a bit more civil out there. Again, sorry that happened to you man. People have to grow up.

  • level 30 is supposed to be achieved through the normal raid complaining to 30s to take you into the level 30 raid means you want someone to take you on a shortcut i, like many 30s, dont like playing with 29s because all they do is bitch and act entitled to the hard raid (even though it is a level 30 activity) sure plenty of 29 only teams do the hard raid because 29s are equal to 30s skill wise. i just hate the average level 29's entitlement complex. especially when i have to watch what i say or i get a long story of how the world hates them or i get their destiny resume

  • You bring up some fair points. I find it interesting you say 29's act entitled when the issue is predominantly created by 30's portraying their entitlement. Again, not all 30's are like that, but there is this tone of exclusivity that you see and yeah, it causes a negative reaction by the 29's. 30's don't like the complaining? Well....some of the 30's did it to themselves by bragging about their status or pushing 29's out. As I said above, there are 30's that are giving ALL 30's a bad name. I know a lot of awesome 30's and I don't begrudge them at all. I'll be 30 eventually too. It's sad that you think asking 30's to take you into the raid means you want someone to take you on a shortcut. I have never asked for shortcuts and as a 29 (when fully leveled, my profile will show 27 as I'm working on some stuff) I carry my weight. I'm sure that goes for a lot of 29's. It's not like people who are 26 are trying to jump into a 30 raid. Ultimately the spirit of the community has changed from everyone getting together to just play a game and have fun to being selective and limiting on who can and can't play by a certain 'class' of people who have reached 30. I'm glad RNG was good to you and gave you raid armor often enough so you can play the level 30 raid. Not everyone has been that lucky (and note: I'm not questioning your skill at all, it is luck to get the armor). 29's trying to get a second crack at scoring the armor should make sense. While you do say it's a level 30 activity, if Bungie didn't intend others to play it 29's wouldn't be able to get in. They do that with their other modes. Thanks for your response.

  • No thanks for YOUR response! You have some fair points and I do feel the RNG pain to a degree, I've been a thirty since about October 5th (hella lucky in that) but after over 40 raid completions (mostly hard) I still have not gotten the vex haha

  • I do feel for you 30's though. Being spammed in the tower can't be a lot of fun. I do believe that it leads to a lot of whining from your point of view. I'm glad Bungie's allowing for a couple of pieces of Iron Banner armor to get to 30 so people can try the VoG on hard. I have everything else EXCEPT gauntlets. Plus it will allow for some customization of level 30 gear. I have to do a ton of grinding for helium though.

  • I've had every kind of hate mail under the sun from people who invited me randomly that I didn't join or let join me. And yes I'm wearing the boots right now cuz I wanted the strength increase haha

  • This is my main issue. I got to level 30 with my warlock in the normal raid and 30 with my titan through the normal raid and the Iron Banner boots. I don't like to pull other people's weight so I don't expect them to pull mine either.

  • I don't like pulling people's weight either but a level difference doesn't dictate that a 29 isn't pulling theirs. When I play VoG normal and have 26's and 27's and even 28's I don't assume I'm pulling their weight. When I'm playing strikes I don't assume that either. That mentality in this community changes with the hard raid. It's sad.

  • I guess for me it is more of an issue of since I don't know the people who I will be playing with I don't really know if they will be skilled or unskilled. I'd be happy to raid with a skilled 29 over an unskilled 30, but often enough I end up with people who don't know that they are doing that are both level 29 and 30. Which in that case a mediocre 30 is grater than a mediocre 29 due to the damage modifiers. it is just a more enjoyable experience for me the better the team plays and when all the players have the crutch of being level 30 to lean on we play much better. i do think the elitism thing is hilarious though on both sides where some 30s think they are better than everyone else because they had better luck and some 29s thinks all 30s are jerks (But I will say after IB I feel less sympathy for people stuck at 29 since I used it to grind out level 30 on my titan). But really I could care less about the number next to your name all I care about is the amount of damage you give and take.

  • Blame Bungie for making the helmet a hard mode only drop & having the large damage penalty per light level. I did a normal with only one thirty, 3 29s, a 28, and a 27 in 40 minutes. Same group where the 27 swapped to a thirty kept wiping at aethon since the portal teams kept getting wrecked by the adds and we couldn't put enough DPS on A to overcome that. If they want to make hard mode 30s only they should make it possible to get 30 without removing your ability to use the exotic slot as you choose.

  • You guys just get bad groups. I will gladly carry a 25 in the vault as long as they help the best they can

  • You pose an intriguing question. I wonder what the lowest level player is that has successfully completed...or been carried in the raid.

  • No worries. Just hoping we can all get along a little better to improve the quality of our experience. Thanks for your response.
