Face it, Titan takes the most skill to play.

(Disclaimer: This is PvP related post) We know its true.. Ask almost any Titan, we are underpowered, and to some degree "broke" (looking at you Catapault!) We have no skillset to act as a crutch for a subpar player. A poorly played Warlock or Hunter can fall back on a skillset to help him along. Ranged melee or easy to aquire sheilds, ranged specials to avoid the onslaught of CQC weapons, Blinks to enhance attacks or evade incoming fire, etc....the list of skills a Warlock/Hunter can utilize in PvP can boost up even the worst player. A Titan has to rely on his skills as an FPS player first. His map knowledge, his skill with his chosen weapon, his.."trickery". Melee avoidable by other classes by "taking a step back" An oversheild he must use his "must be in sneeze distance" melee to gain a kill to aquire. A special he must run into the fight to use, to which he routinely knows the feeling off eating shells before he lands it. A bubble most enemies see as a "Target to aquire mutikills!". Did I mention the broke jump skill? Cue the "Bu-Bu-But Shoulder Charge is soooo OP Mr. Titan"... Yes, you died to it, maybe twice in a round, so its god like. Did that Titan hit you from the front? Well then you must SUCK..cause us Titans know, 9 out of 10 times SC from the front means a death for us. Yes shoulder charge is OP godmode cause a Titan took the time to get a running start, had a small window of time to land it, and he flanked you hitting you from the side or back...and to that I had to use that new thing all the kids are throwing aroud on these boards lately and say "Shut up Meg, Git Gud" I myself am hardly a "great Titan" but I see those beast out there on the battlefield wrecking fools. My hats off to you. You guys are the true PvP beastmode players of the Crucible/IB

  • I... you... I'm here to disagree. Titans are easy mode compared to Hunters and Warlocks. They can fall back on Fist of Havoc to wipe in close quarters and the shockwave to shoot down the hall if they miss anyone, Aftermath to stop hasty self revives, flashbangs to blind anyone who either tries to rush in or gets bunched up. Then blinding them makes them easier to kill since you no longer have to focus on dodging their shots. Just flash and jump if they're close. 9 out of 10 people will not look up when blind. Enough about strikers though.. Defenders are just as bad. I play as a Defender and pretty much never go negative. (my recent games would show the obscene KD spreads I've been getting lately) Ward of Dawn with Armor of Light is actually a very good surprise tactic. It sounds like something you wouldn't use against someone offensively but if you have the Helm of Saint 14, you'd be surprised how overwhelmed people get when you approach them, jump over them, and blind them. If you don't kill them with a shotty melee combo its still bad for them because by the time they can see you, they're looking at someone who takes 5 shots from a shotgun to kill. Turning on Ward of Dawn with AoL lets you tank rockets and pretty much anything else. In some stages you can use it in a hallway to create a literal wall to retreat behind because there's no way for the enemy to shoot through it. Lastly, Fist of Havoc beats all specials in close range. It can survive Golden Gun shots, point blank nova bombs with shatter, multiple slices from arc blade, a radiance melee firebolt combo, and more. Titan's don't need trickery to win at all. They have the best offensive or defensive skillsets for all game types.

  • I am a Titan main and love it to the ends of the earth however from a PvP viewpoint I would have to nudge Hunter Gunslinger class requiring the most skill to play. Painful as that is to admit. I understand everything you mention in the op since titan requires physical contact to enable pretty much all abilities. However the reason why I would point to Hunter is because of their Super Golden Gun. The amount of times ive seen one activate only for them to watch me kill them before they get a shot off. There was one novel moment where two hunters activated GG only to be met with a suppression grenade followed up by a hand cannon to both skulls. They don't get their supers back where as a titan will. Plus the lighting stick grenade is far more destructive than tripmine. If you want the easiest class to play as pick voidwalker and equip blink, thorn, shotgun and a rocket launcher with Axion bolts. 1x thorn shot + dot + Axion bolt = dead 2x thorn shot (head) + dot = dead 1x blink shotgun = dead (I've blinked towards snipers and still won) Blink supers (ive recently blinked past a rival warlocks nova just to blast them with my nova) Next easiest class would be bladedancer, its just crazy how much of a spree you can go on with that super. Its the axion bolt that puts warlock ahead for me. Control modes (which I prefer) nova bomb more ideal. Stuff like clash where people not bunched its bladedancer. At the bottom its gunslinger, Defender, Sunsinger, Striker.

      • This is so sad, to see people b!tching, and argue witch class needs to most skill. Or which class is the best. There is a reason, why there are three classes. When there would be only one class, 90% of us wouldn't play this game anymore. When you think that the titan is the most challenging for you, so ok how cares? In my oppinion I play a lpt as a warlock because I think it is fun, and not because it is the most challenging. Think about that.

      • In all honesty none of the classes take that much skill and all are pretty even in power(hunters are stronger in PvP slightly weaker PvE). It's all about being experienced in using the classes ability. I have three accounts using all the different classes, each have their strengths and weaknesses in both PvP and PvE but with experince all can do well

      • Saint 14 Titan is the strongest class in the game IMO in PvP and PvE. This comes from a guy who has lots of play time in all sub classes.

        • Dude, shoulder charge and the void shield in the defender titan, u guys have very essential skills in PvP. I'd say that each class has very helpful skills in PvP but Titans are the most helpful when playing control or salvage

          • As a Titan, I don't feel all that underpowered. There are certain elements of other classes that seem overpowered to me, but I think the Titan skillset is sufficiently balanced, especially when you throw gear into the equation. Now, I don't have the best success in crucible, but that's generally a result of my (lack of) skill, not my class

          • Titans have a huge crutch though. They've got a bubble that can blind people with the right helmet and they have a panic button.

31 titan, 31 warlock, 30 hunter. False. Hunter (gunslinger) is much harder because what makes you stronger is purely based on skill and not on abilities (like storm fist, or the baby mode nova bomb) Titans arent easy though, theyre hard enough as you gotta get in the melee to do maximal dmg, although they can get quite a beating.
