Magnetized bullets is the phenomenon you're seeing. Developers do it to close the skill gap on console.

And how easy would it be to turn off aim assist? Heres to hope
-
I believe Aim Assist only affects the sticky effect when you have a positive target. The magnetized bullets are just an always on deal. Halo 4 was heavily criticized for it as well.
-
That explains why I get shit on in DMR / BR fights in halo 4 and thrash people all day long in the other 3.
-
Correct.
-
I am assuming they add this to make games 'more fun for everybody to play.' In theory it sounds okay, but the end product seems to benefit those that don't try to aim that well (you were close, so we will help you), while hampering/punishing those that actually take time and try to aim precisely (whoops, we didn't think you would actually be accurate...)? That doesn't really make sense if that is the case.

Hes chatting complete bs. All weapons bar fusion rifles and rocket launchers are 'hitscan' guns (google the term for an explanation). The hitboxes for the Phalanx shields are bigger than the actual shield. Annoying, for sure. Fancy a member of the glorious pc master race getting that wrong. Tut tut. One would think he was a peasant masquerading as what he is not... 😉
-
You're 100% correct in your conclusions. Same reason why you have to fire so far away from the shield of Phalanx.
-
Maybe that's why when some people watch me play any shooter they get confused as to "why I take so long to shoot." Didn't realize you didn't have to actually try. -__-
-
PC gaming solves this problem :)
-
It crushes my soul a bit every time I have to purposefully shoot at empty air in order to hit the stupid things.

Just imagine you're Morgan Freeman in Wanted.
