I want the removal of the military's buffer for women. They get handicaps on all their exercises because they aren't as physically strong/well built as men. Which I find bull shit. You're in the military, you have the same expectations as the others, so you should be able to do what the others can.

  • I heard that was going to change for sometime now. I support it and I hope it eventually happens.

  • The only real problem I have with females in the military is that when they realize they don't want to finish their contract, they'll just get pregnant and chapter out.

  • Different body types than males. They'd actually be putting in more effort than males if they wanted to succeed in the same exercise routine. They want to make you strong; not kill you.

  • The basic training requirements aren't exceptionally hard. Male requirements can be done by both sexes. The handicap makes it ok to do worse in training, but doing worse in actual practice can only cause problems.

  • Ever been in the military? They benefit off of single-sex training. The standards for women are still high, but the standards are focused more on the female's physical attributes. If they were to eliminate this, we wouldn't have as many females passing these courses. Mixed-sex training doesn't benefit anyone.

  • I disagree. Having a common barrier means that everyone is capable of the same minimum. That's only a positive in the military. It makes no sense to me why you'd have a portion less capable than the others just to be fair. And no, I'm not eligible for military service (except for desperate circumstances and such), due to scholiosis.

  • It would make sense if they weren't at a natural disadvantage. So they'll always be less-capable in terms of physicality. Despite this, they shouldn't be declined in their desire to serve their country. Thus, female oriented training programs were born; emphasizing on the strengths of the female body, and guiding them to their best potential.

  • I honestly wouldn't care, if they can't operate at the same capacity as their male counterparts and do the same things they shouldn't be allowed in. I know I'd be pissed off as hell if I knew I had died because a woman got in on an easier scale than I did and failed in her duties.

  • They can operate the same. They just have different physical attributes that should be focused on to create the best soldier possible. I don't think you two understand Basic Training or Boot Camp, so do some research first, please. I'm not interested in making the same points over and over.

  • You obviously have no idea how the real world works. A heavy piece of debris isn't going to say "oh let's decrease our weight since it's a woman lifting it". If you can't lift it you can't lift it. If you can't fit the standard requirements physically you don't deserve to enter. Plus men are generally more effective at combat than women, since they have higher standards. If a woman wants to compete with a man in battle she should have the same physical capacity as a man and be able to pass the male test.

  • I'm perfectly aware of how the world works. First of all, you're intentionally annoying, so why should I even try to dumb this down for you. If you really care, go ahead and research single-sex training tactics. I don't want to waste my time with a civilian who has misconceptions, and makes assumptions based off of them. Or worse, someone who's purposely stupid due to pathetic sadist tendencies.

  • You seem to forget that war doesn't give a shit about gender, it gives a shit about ability. You won't be as effective to fight if you're given leeway because you're "weaker" or "different". I'd understand if there is a draft, but in the first wave should be the most physically fit and should have one system. Bottom line Efficiency > equal treatment to women

  • I haven't forgotten anything. It's quite odd how I'm being lectured on war by someone who has clearly never been in one. You play Call of Duty sometimes, or something? You think if a piece of debris, that was too heavy for you to lift off of yourself, collided or fell on you, that you'd live? My last statement had nothing to do with my knowledge on war. It simply suggested that you should do some research before you make assumptions. It's a fair request, but somehow you've continued making presumptuous assertions as if I said something I hadn't. Almost as if you were looking for an argument. But that would be silly. Wouldn't it.

  • Effectiveness > equal rights P.S. My background is irrelevant.

  • You're assuming they wouldn't be effective in the conditions of war, which is wrong. Your background is slightly relevant when you have a complete misconception of war, and how you think women would be ineffective.

  • Again, war doesn't care if you're naturally inclined to being physically weaker. Fighting isn't gender bias. I don't need to be a military man to see that. And I apologize if my examples are in bad taste, but that doesn't disprove my point. I'm not saying women are ineffective at combat I'm saying the women who are behind the male but over the female mark of acceptance will be less effective and potentially a waste of government money. Of course I'm not 100% on the differences between men and women in regulations so I guess that's a bit bias on my part. But my point still stands and seeing as how so many people are complaining about it it must be a substantial difference.

  • I don't agree with that. The basic requirements aren't impossible for either side. In real world scenarios, there is no difference between male and female expectations, so there shouldn't be any when they're training for it. It just makes no sense to me.

  • You're looking at this the wrong way. It's not about how we can do the same thing, because males and females are physically different(this does not make women inferior merely not the same). It's about every individual serving their country to the best of their abilities.
