I'm fairly new to PC gaming, I've always stuck with console but I'm learning more and more that PC's are far more superior to consoles and so I wanted to try Halo 2.
Apparently you can play it online still on the PC? I haven't a clue.
Anybody care to shed a little light on the topic?
Posted by: Ikerzaz It's pretty sad to hear that matchmaking is dead
I know you're used to console gaming so I'll explain something short to you about that. Matchmaking was created by Bungie to make peer-to-peer servers seem at least bearable. Dedicated servers/Server browsers are much better with people admins paying close attention to their own. There's less lag and no one ever gets the "Host Advantage" that's always complained about on console games. There is absolutely no positive to Matchmaking what so ever. Some people contend that it's better for ranking, but we've seen how Halo 3 gets with derankers/booster. I also see playing Matchmaking competitively as the stupidest thing I've ever heard. It's too uncontrolled of an environment to ever be a real competitive scene. Only private organized matches should ever be considered for competitive gaming. [Edited on 02.15.2012 8:32 AM PST]
