Destiny Helped Me

MAJOR EDIT: I know someone with brain cancer recently got a gun. I do not want one. I like what I have. This post is to share my story and inspire others to be proud of thEir own. I've had this app for awhile and hardly posted but today I felt inspired to do so. I pre ordered this game at some point in the summer. All of last year, I had 9 pancreatitis attacks-very painful and very serious. Deadly. Serious stuff. This isn't common in young people. I'm only 22. I already had kidney issues prior, but the attacks worsened my kidneys at a higher rate. We couldn't figure out why I was getting the attacks. So I had to get a total pancreatectomy. They had to remove my gallbladder spleen appendix and pancreas... Which automatically makes you a diabetic which could be fixed in the future but that's another story. They found out I was in kidney failure right before surgery. I was on dialysis through surgery and during my 3 month recovery. It was a great challenge. Then on august 14, my brother donated his kidney to me and it's working very well and I'm grateful. I started going back to school, commuting, around the time the game came out. At first it was great seeing friends. But being sick and out of social contact with anyone but my family made if tough for me. I became very shy. I started leveling up in destiny (20+) and found a great crew to play with. We laugh, joke, and always enjoy ourselves and play well together. I look forward to hearing from them when we play whichever night after school. Some of my shyness has gone away, it's definitely still a challenge accepting that everything is finally going to be ok health wise. But the game has given me an outlet. A social outlet. Not to be relied upon. Just to be appreciated. Thank you Bungie and the kind people who play the game.

  • I dont know about panc.. how ever its spelled but i wish the best of luck for you but i mind you that i have tourettes syndrome the motor tic one and in my case i live with painful muscle spasms, head jerking, twitching, and diffuculty playing games when i get hot cause it makes me twitch alot when im really hot. but aside from playing video games i dont think i will be able to drive when i get older i am only 18 and have been living with this for over 6 years now. most people dont even know what tourettes is and when they hear me say i have it they say im lying because im not shouting and dont realize that there is 2 types of tourettes but i dont know the pain you went through but my neck is stiff all the time and hurts very bad and this is a constant pain which does not go away.
