I understand your frustration, but if you can beat the raid, what's the rush? We all know our 30 doesn't mean much as far as skill

  • Level is not gonna matter in 3 weeks. Level cap getting raised anyway

  • Because some of us want to move on to leveling up other character classes. I want to level up a Titan, but can't because I need that slot so that I can work the the RNG to get raid armor for my Warlock primary.

  • Thats one way o take it, but by going tgat route, thats the risk you take. Only one of my toons is 30, but i didnt have to role triplets to get it... Nothing is stopping you from using other toons, you made the conscious decision to do that hoping to increase your chances.

  • Not everyone is like that. Some of us remember beating it at 26 and 27 and know it can be done.

  • Well, i run hard with 3 29s which you can get to with vanguard gear and an exotic. The point remains the same, not all of us forgot doing these things at lower light levels.

Nothing is making me do anything. But what I am doing is a rational (and common) response to the broken loot system in the raid. I made a conscious choice to sacrifice playing another character class in order to allow my favorite one to progress at a more reasonable pace. I'm annoyed because Destiny is the first RPG I have played that put me in a position were I felt I needed to do this. Because---without an alternate---I could easily see my main character being stuck at lvl 29 for another 2 months or more since it has taken me 10 raids just to get the one piece of raid armor that I currently have.

  • Absolutely. I don't disagree that this loot system was a lousy choice. That being said, you can already obviously beat the raid, the gear only helps make it easier (for now. But tge difference between 29 and 30 will be slight and surmountable by player skill (or better weapons) in the next iron banner, and that may provide the pieces you need. So what's the rush? If you want to play the other classes, dont try to just finish the first, play the fun way. Hell, you can even run the next raid on normal.

    1. I didn't feel any "rush" to get to level 30 prior to the patch. But the reality of the patch has made it increasingly difficult to get opportunities to do the hard mode raid, unless you have a regular group that you raid with...which I don't have. 2. The first expansion is about to drop in less than a month, and I DON"T have an bottomless well of time to play this game. I want a full set of the VoG raid armor. I want of full-set of elemental damage primary weapons. ...and I really don't want to be bouncing back-and-forth between two different raids each week, because the loot system in this first one is so badly broken. Seriously. If I DIDN'T have an alternate---at the current drop rates I'm seeing---I'd be looking at having to raid once-a-week....EVERY WEEK...for a YEAR before I'd manage to accomplish what I want to do. Which is beyond the limits of even my levels of patience and ability to delay gratification. ...and of course by then we'd also have (at least) two other raids---and presumably---two other raid armor sets out there. So----given this stark scenario----the giving up the opportunity to play the character class that I enjoy playing the LEAST is a small price to pay. But it IS still a price that I am paying in trying to deal with an poorly-concieved raid loot system.

  • the damage difference between 29 and 30 is like 30% which is a lot, and of course you are fine because you have a level 30
