Hi Lord Yesua, Thank you for separating your open letter from the underlying help request. Both are valid posts and I simply want to keep the two clear in purpose. After reading your description, there are a few suggestions that come to mind along with some clarifying questions. You and your brother use the same physical console, correct? Or are there two consoles of the same type in the home? If you are using the same console, do you have separate GamerTags? Or do you share Gamertags? My first suggestions would be to try unplugging all of your network devices and then plugging in just your console, directly to the modem. This isn't a permanent solution, but rather a test (from here: http://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12147) that helps to single out any potential sources of interference. In particular, Destiny requires a strong internet connection, not necessarily a fast one. To make a simple comparison, the internet is often compared to a highway. Fast download speeds are like fast speedlimits. Destiny doesn't require a super high speedlimit, but instead a really smooth and flat road. Sometimes, home networks can have configurations that make that connection less smooth and introduce errors. If you have followed the steps in the link above, and are still unable to matchmake, this may mean you have to contact your ISP. I know this is a frustrating suggestion, but players have had success talking with their Internet Service Provider to help have their home network looked at by an expert. Finally, if contacting your ISP isn't an option, please know that we understand that some issues may be outside your ability to fix. We are working on improving everyone's Destiny experience in many different ways. I'm sorry I don't have more details to share, but the issues you and others see are important to us and we want everyone to be able to play. When we have new information, we will report it here on the forums, on Twitter, or on our help pages.

Dear BNGHelp0, I have followed the process of unplugging all of the network devices and then plugging in just my console. The matchmaking works without any problems when I do this. I then systematically plug all devices back in and none of them cause any interference. I would prefer to play via my wireless system. Is is perhaps something to do with the wireless settings? Will I have to contact my ISP? Like I said, I have no problem playing any other on-line games on the Xbox and my brother plays Destiny on the same physical console with a different gamer tag and encounters no problems. I seem to be the unlucky one at times. What can we do to improve connectivity in matchmaking when using wireless? Many thanks for your help and advice, Lord Yesua NB: I have also posted this message in the HELP forums just in case: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/77593386

  • Thank you for taking the time to reply. That's correct, me and my brother are using the same physical console but have different gamertags. It is getting rather late where I live at the moment and so I don't have time to test this right now. I will do this in the morning. I was given this advice once before on the forums by an advisor. I plugged the console directly into the modem and the problem was resolved, the game updated, and I had no problems until today. The problem is that it is rather awkward to have the console plugged into the modem downstairs where the Xbox would disturb other family members (otherwise, I would have it plugged in as opposed to wireless all the time). I understand that you want me to do this for test reasons and I will do so tomorrow and then get back to you with the results. Thank you very much for taking the time to reply and forgive my impatience. If I need to contact the ISP, that shouldn't be a problem.
