Today. Got Insurmountable Skull Fort from an engram, hopped on my Titan for the first time in awhile and proceeded to go about the daily tasks and missions in a different style than I normally do: using almost exclusively melee and shotgun. Not only was it fun to play with a style that is wildly different from my usual tactical sniping with my Hunter, it was actually really effective. Completed all of my daily tasks on a minimum level of 24 (aside from patrolling for materials and the city tasks) and didn't die once. Even managed to level up my shiny new skull fort up a bit.
If the game's starting to feel stale, try doing something new or different from what you usually do... It may just work
• I get what you're saying, I do. And it does work to an extant. But... I really shouldn't HAVE to constantly change the way I play the game, or force myself to come up with new strategies just to maintain the "fun" factor, you know? I mean, if I use Halo 3 as an example... H3 wasn't nearly as deep as Destiny is right now. H3 had, what, 12 different guns you could use online? Destiny has an incredible amount. Destiny also has so many different "Bounties" and challenges, something H3 lacked. Destiny also has an incredibly immersive and vast campaign that gives you plenty of reason to revisit it. H3 didn't. Yet despite all this that Destiny had over Halo, Destiny became boring to me in about 2 weeks while Halo, somehow, didn't get stale after 5 years of playing it constantly. It STILL isn't stale to me. Hell, I'm about to be playing it a ton in a couple weeks with the MCC. I don't really know why that is. Destiny, on paper, should be better than H3 was in every way. Yet I just can't bring myself to enjoy it. I want to like Destiny, I REALLY do. It's from Bungie, my favorite game developer (and of course I paid 60 bucks for it). I just haven't found myself wanting to pick it up in weeks. I know Bungie said this is a 10 year investment or something of the sort, but I really hope that in a couple years they come out with another, completely new IP. It's not like them to disappoint.
