A lot of people often complain that pvp is ruining this game through the constant complaints and rebalancing that occurs. To a point, I agree.
But, I will contend that pvp is actually saving this game.
Do you really think that bungie would have put in a longer story if pvp wasn't there? Do you think activision would cease the parceling and chopping of story missions just because pvp is gone? The pve would still be just as disappointing.
So, knowing that, what would you do with these unbalanced weapons? Would it really make your twelve hours of gameplay all that amazing? No.
The true savior of this game is the constantly unpredictable encounters of other enemy players, otherwise, the pve is 100% predictable.

Don't you think it would be great if each faction had a back story and missions? Secret, stealth missions against the other factions. Faction wars? What are you doing? Grinding rep. No leaderboards. No real ties to PVE. It should be. There should be a great story there. A story for all the factions. Why did you pick your faction? I don't play PVP. I find it boring. If they had did what I just wrote? I would be in it. Bungie had a chance to hit a home run. I think they stuck out.
