DLC - Ripoff? - Will you be buying?
I posted ages ago when the DLC was supposedly leaked and what a complete joke it was! Most of the fan-boys went mental to defend the practice of DLC with its "just content markers" or "there is more content" or "I'm a broke ass/ self entitled whiner" lol.
now we have details on the content its even less than originally thought...

2. Light Cap: Lvl 32
3. New Armor and Weapons
4. 5 New Bounty Slots
5. new character Eris in story mode, with 3 new missions
6. New Strike: The Will of Crota

Personally this is joke and complete rip off I want new planets with content and space battles, new gameplay ideas etc. I have seen so many good ideas on the forums yet they release this garbage!
Edit 1- I don't care about other games, my point is DLC in general is a rip off and only encourages publishers to release half finished games and shoddy DLC!
Edit 2 - Perspective... you brought Destiny for likely £40 probably more. You got 20+ story missions, 4/5 strikes, raid and all the rest. Your gonna pay half that for 3 story's 1 raid 1 strike and rest.... COME ON WAKE UP
Edit 3 - WOW so much hate! As consumers you should expect more, defending DLC seriously ? "You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it"
Edit 4 - I'm from the UK so for our American friends £20 = $32, £35 = $56. To be more clear as some people are confused in America you can buy both DLC packs for $35 which is about £22. in the UK we would effectively be paying $56 for the same content

- Yes is winning by about 100 votes which is surprising as the general consensus from the comments is more in favour of no and disappointment, however UK gamers are clearly far more pissed at the price and rightly so.
- Huge amount of people already purchased the DLC happy at 450 votes with 230 people unhappy they already bought DLC.
- Also 177 people sat on the fence undecided

Edit 7 - IMO the content is disgraceful for the price. I think the game lacks content already and is highly repetitive for no good reason. Alot of people justify the cost by the time spent on the game, to me its irrelevant its quality not quantity. Yes you spent 100 hours in game but half of that was doing the same stuff over and over and over etc. lots of people justify the price by comparing to other costs cinema/food etc again i don't agree its comparable for example i could buy a music album and listen to that for the next 40 years!
DLC is way for publishers to milk money from consumers and its unsettling how many people actually don't care and worse even defend the practice! Only way to change this is to vote with your wallet! If consumers didn't buy DLC publishers would hit the panic button and actually think twice before they release games and DLC that would actually be worth a purchase.
For the price of £35 i can buy another game and will do so.

It's shit, but I already bought the game and put in lots of hours. Plus, there is no way to mod on consoles so they had me by theballs all the way up to here. But their next game is gonna flop if they don't make House of Wolves the DLC of DLCs

More would have been more, but it seems like a acceptable amount of content for a dlc. I expect it'll be worth the money, considering how many hours I've got out of the rest of the game.

I will be buying We can't say s#!t until the dlc comes out, if its a low size then it was in the game Anything more then 500mb then it was made outside the game and not just an unlock code

That would explain why when they did actually announce the doc it turned out to less content than originally expected. Maybe, it wasn't just fanboys defending blindly at all, just people looking at something realistically instead of making assumptions based on Internet rumor and speculation...

2 RepliesNo, because Bungie decided to screw over loyal fans just to suck Sony's joystick. They have repeatedly demonstrated that they don't care about the opinions and concerns of their own customers. I have better things to spend my money on, like Dragon Age, which comes from a company which is actually trying to redeem itself, rather than falling further into its own death spiral. I feel like I got my money's worth out of Destiny. Barely. However, the repeated nerfs, no real efforts at rebalancing classes and certain exotic weapons, and the continued attempts to force us to play this game the way Bungie wants us to (despite their claims that they want us playing the way we want to) have driven me away. To all of the Playstation players complaining about how Xbox got exclusive content back in the day? Yeah, I know. So did you guys. But I've never seen a game where I was denied content and charged the same price. I paid for a complete game now. Not in a few months, not in a few weeks, NOW. If I had known about the exclusive content which was taken from me even though I paid the same price, I would never have gotten Destiny. That's the price I pay for staying uninformed to avoid the hype train.

I can't bring myself to spend more money on a game that I've been so utterly disappointed by. I've spent 60-100 more hours on the game as my friends that I normally play with, and they get better drops then I do, which is causing me to want to quit the game, especially in the face of better games being on the way, with Sunset Overdrive already being released. It doesn't help that the content coming with the DLC is such a pathetically small amount, when we already have the bare minimum of content anyways. Plus, being an xbox player, I pay the same as a playstation user and get less. No thanks, I imagine I won't be playing much longer anyways. It was decent while it lasted, but I'm at wits end with Destiny.

You're clearly unhappy with Destiny and biased towards the 'dislike' of the DLC so it's not even worth the effort. On the subject of price though, i'm in the UK and bought the cheapest digital edition of Destiny which was still £55. Unless you bought your copy pre-owned? /shrug.

I love destiny think its still really fun. Dlc Will probably give it 100h+ more hours of fun to me so yes its worth it. And actually i see this game as a insvetment. Since i started to play the game i dont go out clubbing drinking or eating out as Much as i did. And usually a friday night costs like 200euro. So this game has save me alot of money:):):)

If I was paying that price, I'm also not sure I would think it's worth it. As it stands though, I would easily pay $10 USD for another raid, and another $10 USD for 3 multiplayer maps, a strike, 3 story missions, and new gear and weapons, so $20 isn't bad. Actually I payed less than that since I got it bundled as an expansion with the limited edition, and $10 is about the running price for a few multiplayer maps in most games, it's not exactly overpriced as DLC goes.
