I posted ages ago when the DLC was supposedly leaked and what a complete joke it was! Most of the fan-boys went mental to defend the practice of DLC with its "just content markers" or "there is more content" or "I'm a broke ass/ self entitled whiner" lol.
now we have details on the content its even less than originally thought...
1. $20/£19.99 Standalone $34.99/£34.99 Season Pass
2. Light Cap: Lvl 32
3. New Armor and Weapons
4. 5 New Bounty Slots
5. new character Eris in story mode, with 3 new missions
6. New Strike: The Will of Crota
7. New Raid: Crota's End
8. New PvP Maps: Pantheon, Skyshock, The Cauldron
9*. Exclusive Strike for Playstation: The Undying Mind
Out December 9, 2014
Personally this is joke and complete rip off I want new planets with content and space battles, new gameplay ideas etc. I have seen so many good ideas on the forums yet they release this garbage!
Edit 1- I don't care about other games, my point is DLC in general is a rip off and only encourages publishers to release half finished games and shoddy DLC!
Edit 2 - Perspective... you brought Destiny for likely £40 probably more. You got 20+ story missions, 4/5 strikes, raid and all the rest. Your gonna pay half that for 3 story's 1 raid 1 strike and rest.... COME ON WAKE UP
Edit 3 - WOW so much hate! As consumers you should expect more, defending DLC seriously ? "You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it"
Edit 4 - I'm from the UK so for our American friends £20 = $32, £35 = $56. To be more clear as some people are confused in America you can buy both DLC packs for $35 which is about £22. in the UK we would effectively be paying $56 for the same content
Edit 5 - Loads of response and great feedback and only a few idiots posting :) as it stands
- Yes is winning by about 100 votes which is surprising as the general consensus from the comments is more in favour of no and disappointment, however UK gamers are clearly far more pissed at the price and rightly so.
- Huge amount of people already purchased the DLC happy at 450 votes with 230 people unhappy they already bought DLC.
- Also 177 people sat on the fence undecided
Edit 6 - Great response well over 3k votes! as it stands on 31st at 10 am in order of the poll..
Y=795
N=572
Und=383
DontC=105 (lol why vote then)
have SP happy = 1010!
have SP Angry = 469
Edit 7 - IMO the content is disgraceful for the price. I think the game lacks content already and is highly repetitive for no good reason. Alot of people justify the cost by the time spent on the game, to me its irrelevant its quality not quantity. Yes you spent 100 hours in game but half of that was doing the same stuff over and over and over etc. lots of people justify the price by comparing to other costs cinema/food etc again i don't agree its comparable for example i could buy a music album and listen to that for the next 40 years!
DLC is way for publishers to milk money from consumers and its unsettling how many people actually don't care and worse even defend the practice! Only way to change this is to vote with your wallet! If consumers didn't buy DLC publishers would hit the panic button and actually think twice before they release games and DLC that would actually be worth a purchase.
For the price of £35 i can buy another game and will do so.

Edited by Cat-Girl Lover (Timelost): 10/29/2014 6:05:34 PMYes Reason : 20€ ($/£) would what, get me into a movie large popcorn and coke and the bus home?. When I could pay 20 for a lot more enjoyment with friends (raids, strikes , grinding to lv32) and jumping out my window if I ever got the necrochasm xD
-
I'm sure I'll buy it... But not because I'm excited for it. Rather because my boyfriend already paid for it and I'll need it if i want to keep playing with him and i enjoy the time "together" (in separate rooms in our house talking via headsets lol!)
-
I will buy it because I wan't more stuff to do in Destiny because I, *GASP*, LIKE THE GAME.
-
Just saying. If they released entirely new gameplay mechanics and areas. It would take a lot longer to release. Not 3 months. IIRC, there's still supposed to be a huge expansion eventually. Maybe then.
-
Doesn't seem worth it too me but that's my opinion
-
Ill wait till i see reviews
-
Kinda regret buying the legendary... I would definitely not buy the DLC if I had a choice now.
-
I will, but I am kinda bummed that I have to wait for the new strike.
-
We're not getting a raid with the DLC. It's going to be unlocked at a later time in an update and will most likely be available to ALL players.
-
If you can't afford to spend 20 dollars on some thing you are obviously so passionate about, then it's time to get out of mommys basement and get a job. Just use your allowance.
-
Edited by CAKE SLAP: 10/29/2014 6:36:51 PMBiggest thing bothering me is that uk has to pay more than US. $20 is not equal to £20.
-
If you have a $500 console stop crying
-
Yes. Reason: --Movie and dinner costs $20-30. Roughly 2-3 hours of enjoyment --DLC is $20. Will mostly like get a few dozen hours of enjoyment out of it.
-
I bought the Guardian Digital Deluxe edition on pre-order like a sucker so I already bought the DLC and i'm ANGRY. Been thinking about stopping for a while and I think this is a good as time as any.
-
I went "no" because the price vs content on that dlc is not balanced. Destiny is a lot of fun but repeating the very limited content is killing it for me and I expect the future dlcs to be the same. The amount of combined content after several dlcs however will probably make things better but unless it's reasonably priced I will not be interested.
-
Not saying you're wrong, but where is your source? Just want to read it myself is all
-
Matrix analogies? Anywho, in response to the poll - Yes. I find the amount of content they plan to release robust enough to justify purchase of the DLC pack and will likely provide me even more entertainment per dollar than the original release as it will add to the variety of mission structure, vanguard strikes, and 2 raids a week instead of just 1. I cannot comment on additional gear as i'm not sure what it will be, but likely a few new exotic bounties will be mixed in.

COME ON WAKE UP[/quote] This logic is flawed, you made your initial investment not just on the introductory content, but the framework to access that content (the engine) You don't order a pizza and expect to pay for just the toppings, you gotta buy the pizza 1st, and the toppings are extra.
-
Kind of a wait and see issue for me. I won't be jumping on the DLC as fast as I did the game.
-
I have yet to buy it. I may or may not on depending on if I am still playing or playing something else. I have extremely add when it comes to games, so I never buy season passes.
-
Dragon Age Inquisition is coming out in less than 3 weeks. So, no I might not buy destiny dlc. P.S. Dragon Age Origins is my favorite game of all time next to Mass Effect series.
-
I'll be buying. It's $20 bucks who cares and I still enjoy the game.
-
Sad thing is I already purchased the season pass
-
Sounds like you are wanting a full fledged expansion or release... not dlc
-
Because if you want more content that is how it works now, no amount of bitching and moaning will ever change that fact. DLC is here to stay so get used to it or quit gaming.
-
I don't see the problem with this. I would pay 20$ just for a new raid. From what it looks like, they're selling me a 100 hours worth of content. I', happy with that.
