I would like to start a post that can have all the viewpoints of everyone to show what Bungie can do to help ale this franchise rise. If you are going to be continuing to play, state why so Bungie knows what the community likes, and possibly give them ideas to help expand the game making in an exciting game. If you don't like what you are seeing in destiny, then state why, and provide what solutions you think could help promote this game. If you don't know whether or not you will or won't play it, then also explain why. This is something for everyone to share opinions and collaborate on ideas to help Bungie Teamwork guys! Help spread this post to let everyone share their opinion. Don't be brutal towards each other either, I would like this post to be an opinion based thread that won't have people killing each other. Thank you for all the people that will help support! I hope everyone is having fun, with the game! If not help make it better!

  • I might pick up Destiny 3 when they release it with all DLC included, but only because by then it should be the game we were shown for the last 2 years. Will I play every scrap of content they sell to us over the next 10 years? Hell no.

  • Yes. Halo was my favorite. Bungie needs a chance to grow destiny, and I think they can learn from their mistakes.

I will play the 2 expansions because I already paid them and then I will stop. Currently I am angry that we as Xbox owners pays the same price for the expansions and get less content. 3 story missions? That's a joke. Before anyone saying we knew from the get go, I am normally a very well informed gamer, so I knew about the exclusive content in the main game but I really did not know about Sony exclusive content in the expansion packs that will carry for ONE YEAR. WTF Bungie, I understand exclusivity deals but that deal is beyond understandable and different from other games like COD and GTA IV. In those cases you pay at least the same price for the same content but need to wait for it a little bit longer on the other console. But taking the same money for less content is a complete rip-off and for me you destroyed my motivation to come back to Destiny after the 2nd expansion pack.

  • 10 years of more grinding play style? Not for me. I would be surprised if people think that this game franchise will last 10 months let alone years.

I will play this game, buy its expansion packs and pre-order its sequels. Why? Because keep in mind, this right now is the worst that Destiny will ever be. Whether you think it is Game of the Year or Bargain Bin material, it will only improve from here on out. That said, the connectivity issues bug me. Granted, The Zoo hasn't exacted its full measure of vengeance upon me, but there seems to be a swarm of flies and caterpillars living in my router. I get bored grinding, and the lack of any palpable story makes me sad. Most of the characters are cliched, and many story missions gave me the impression that they were either overthought or underthought. But Bungie has a vision, and even though it may not have been realized with the first entry, there's nothing here that can't be fixed. They may have bit off more than they could chew with this endeavor, but they have a solid enough foundation built now. Anything that comes our way from this day forward will only be an improvement. In every case, I would prefer that a developer shoot for the stars and fail miserably rather than resort to the safety of mediocrity. Bungie (as shown by the wildly successful Halo) knows what works, so when I see them strive for an innovative gamble like Destiny, that makes it clear to me that they value creativity and gamer satisfaction over their own bottom line. Destiny may not have been the resounding success that it was predicted to be, but from what I have seen, it has more potential for greatness than any other game on its way for the foreseeable future, and that is why I will be here for a long, long time.

    • I just hope they add a new and more Character creation options and for the people that already made there character a reincarnation option for re-customizing your old characters changing race and looks because Bungie said in Destiny there is no perks from races and am sure looks are the same so why not have it?

      • I want to fight in this Damn war against the darkness! The beginning of the game starts off with the speaker saying we are getting are ass kicked and when the darkness returns no one will survive it as it stands at this moment. I have not felt that that the fallen, hive, vex or cabal are any real challenge, or that my characters are ever in danger or that anything I do matters other than the statistical database they keep. Our choices and or accomplishments should have some kind of effect on the game, not just a cut scene. For example, on the moon when u free the travelers shard. Are you kidding. I just soloed a hive army and saved the traveler... and I felt like it was just another run to KFC. That should have been the first raid. Hell I would have at least liked to recieve some buff or award for saving the damn traveler or see it change some how back at the tower. The same goes for the black garden.... a solo player can destroy the darkness that is plaguing our solar system? To make it more interesting for the pve crowd that missiin should have been a 12 man raid. We are led to believe the darkness is all powerfull and bad ass, but as a solo player I can take down the vex's god? And I can do it before I even reach twenty...and with out any of your light lvling gear? Gear... we need more gear with different perks. Everyone looks the same and uses the same basic tactics for each class, because the skill trees are so limited and there are only a couple of different perks across existing gear. You need to able to equip more than one exotic. (Yes this would really tip the balance in pvp, but I dontcare about pvp. My titan needs more armor) Public events should be on going conflicts that take more than 3 min. Pvp has nothing to do with your story or content, why the hell are you so intent of spending all your rescources and time on it. You prioritized the iron banner over the queens wrath... for the pve players that was a kick to the balls. If the world is ending and I have to go out to battle everyday to beat back the evil in the solar system, going to the arena to blow up my buddy doesnt really fit unless im a total psycopath. DECIDE WHETHER YOU WANT A PVP GAME OR PVE RPG GAME... Then you can start to adjust and fix all your problems. You will not survive with pvp tho as there are many more far superior pvp games and many more coming out. If you want a pvp game you are going to have to have a shit load more maps and bigger teams than just six. If you finally figure out pve peeps will stay loyal for ten years unlike the pvp crowd that will bounce from one arena game to the next. Then get some damn content. We want to explore more than the 100 acre launch pad ranch on earth. Why cant I explore these endless tunnels inside the moon my ghost mapped. I want to benefit from the info I downloaded from the archive on venus. I want to beable to trade all of these junk drops for something usefull. We want to fight hordes of enemies together in the open world. We want to have to take risks for greater reward, we consequences for our actions. Nobody but pvp players really care about thier lifetime kill numbers. Pve players flash their mythocast in your face because the worked thier way to get it. But since the pvp players seem to get all they want xur will probably be selling it for glimmer in the next couple of weeks. PVEers keep track of the achievements and most powerfull enemies they have slain, or hardest raid they have cleared. They love the story and want to matter in the game. They want to feel like they have become legend and have the gear and weapons that can only be earned by achievement to prove it. Having a statistics database on my phone to show my buddies how many kills I had last doesnt really do much for me, expecially when most of the peeps I play alongside live hundreds of miles away. But my gear and weapons speak for themselves, or at least they should. Yes you have a cool database, but I dont want to collect cards to read the story, I want to experience it. And I dont want to spend countless hours in pve to get a weapon just to have it nerfed because the pvpers are bitching, as well as earning gear only to find out I could have just run the weekly strike on all my characters for coins and bought the equivelant from xur. Make your choice bungie pvp or pve. You are going to lose one crowd or the other.

I'm going to sick around because even though Bungie -blam!-ed up on the first one doesn't mean they are going to make the same mistakes. While the story is lacking and what we are going to get in the DLC is not enough to compensate it, Bungie has shown evidence that they are listening to the forums. That's why I believe that even with how the first installment turned out, I think Bungie will be ab;e to pull it back. And as such I will continue to provide ideas such as these: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/75118981 http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/70500745

              • I'll enjoy (hopefully) my 2 pre ordered dlc, then after that I'll never return to destiny, maybe in 10 years when it's finished, but for me I'm not -blam!-ing about investing in between on an unfinished product. It's like going to a shoe shop and buying just one shoe, I'm gonna come back and wait until I can get the pair!

                • I would love to stick with this game for the full trip ....but I'm doubting that will happen to be honest I'm more let down by destiny then I was with the original mass effect 3 ending and all that bloody mess but atleast bio ware saved themselves with free dlcs and brought more content to give more detail and a semi fulfilment of a real ending .....but I will make a deal with you bungie if you can make a voice for dinklebot I'll pay the 5 dollars or what ever you put on just so I never have to hear is dull lifeless voice of what seems to be an AI but an AI is an artificial INTELLIGENCE meaning they can feel the emotions of hate happiness sadness and that you nailed it with Cortona ...I pray at night to Cortona to kill this stupid dinklebot for me.

                • I'm going to keep playing because unlike the bandwagoners that are all about hating bungie right now (but keep playing their game) I can think for myself. I like the game, whether it's missing things or not. If people really were mad they'd stop playing and stay off the forums, maybe checking in when the DLC was released to see where the game is. But no. They still play the game and/or still lurk around on the forums. So I'm doing my own thing by getting as much enjoyment out of the game as I can. It's an alright game, but too many people on the forums are way too interested in pushing their own agendas by doing everything in their power to convince others it is not. That's just me.

I gave it a maybe, just because I DO like the game as it is but find a pretty big lack of replay value once you hit the upper lvls of character progression. I'm not saying that I'll be buying the dlcs right away or ever, but I'm not saying that I for sure won't be buying them either. It all depends on how the game content progresses. If destiny keeps getting enough content to keep me coming back, I'll keep coming back. As for continuously playing it for the entire 10 year span, I highly doubt it. This is the kind of game that you destroy in a month or two, drop for half-a-year, and come back to when things have had the chance to become fresh again. Also, on a side note, Bungie needs to release more mid-long range maps in the Crucible, because that's the only real thing that's keeping people pissed at the PvP IMHO. If the maps didn't favor cqc weapons so much I'm sure it would be a LOT more fun and interesting to play. Edit: The maps aren't the only thing, there's actually one more core issue with PvP: Lack of variety in game modes. Seriously, there's only one type of objective based mode!? I don't count salvage cuz it isn't even there 90% of the time, so that leaves control, and the fact that its the only one is shameful. Come on, fps's have had more game modes for like 15 years now (perfect dark as an example), so what are you guys @ bungie thinking releasing ur biggest title yet without meeting a standard established over 15 years ago? I love the Crucible, but it does need some tuning to be truly great. Also, I find the overall lack of inspiration with the enemy types and bosses to be pretty disheartening. Bosses = big regular enemies, and therefore require the same strategies to kill. Enemies lack variety and respond too predictably. Enemy group composition is simple, to say the least. This is a VERY boring thing for a fps to have. /end feedback

                    • I honestly don't know if I'm going to get the DLC at this point. The fact that my friend was able start a second character and get it lvl 27 before my primary character has trouble getting past 28/29 shows how much the leveling is broken.   When you finally get to 28 and then drop back down to 27 because you finally picked up that raid gear you've been hunting for. Now you have to start over by going from rock to rock looking for upgrade material. Seriously, do you realize how annoying and tedious and just plain boring it is to look for red rocks on a red planet?? And when you finally have that, you gotta grind away to get sherds, only to be rewarded with energy. Screw the fact Xbox owners are getting shafted by the new DLC. There are so many game men mechanics Bungie has not even acknowledged. I get that they may want to make it challenging to level up. But they haven't done that, it's not actually challenging to level up. It pure luck if you will get the gear and items you need.  There are ways to make a game challenging without doing all the crap Bungie did to this game.  If you want a good example, then look at WoW (at least the first few seasons).   This game honestly had/has the potential to be a great MMO for consoles.  But Bungie/Activision have officially screwed the game.  Then again you really can't expect any better from Activision.  Honestly thought Bungie would have done better.

                    • I wont be playing destiny in the future because they lied about game. The game mechanics are awesome. But the story is shit, not enough content, boring as hell in the tower, and much more.I see them adding all these things in future dlc(not the ones releasing soon). They are just giving us bit by bit while we dig in our pockets. In the dlc they will likely give us a taste of what destiny could have been. Also They havent mentioned anything about the dlc either. Usually when a company has dlc they let you know the Destiny folks have yet to do this. I paid for dlc when the game released and im pissed there isn't any news on whats going to be on it. We just hear rumors. That in itself is misleading this is why I cannot trust bungie or Activision anymore. Everything about these tactics are WRONG! There's so much wrong with this game they cant fix it all in 2 dlc's.
