A message to Deej

Alright, the patch is here. Does the feedback from people surprise you and the Devs? It really shouldn't, for the past week people were saying how this is a bad idea and how it doesn't add difficulty - but frustration. I can't tell you how many times I have wiped in this raid due to actual bugs. Example 1: Two guardians being sent into Mars or Venus instead of Three Example 2: Relic special not working Example 3: Relic randomly drops and are unable to pick it up again Example 4: Oracles not taking damage These are real issues. A raid being out for 2 months and having mechanics that people are familiar with and able to complete the raid in coordination with one another isn't an issue. It really boggles my mind that there are real issues with this raid that haven't even been addressed. On another note, you have promised us an upgrade (I don't have the weapons but I understand players frustration who do have them) bad juju and thorn. Seriously? It took you guys a few days to nerf Vex, oh surprise there, nerf because of PvP when it's a PvE weapon. Yet you mentioned these two weapons being below their abilities and that they will be fixed, nothing has even happened since that was mentioned nearly two months ago. The expansion comes out pretty soon so I think it's safe to assume there will be better weapons out there so bad juju and thorn will be obsolete. I [b]USED[/b] to have extreme amounts of respect for Bungie, it seems that you guys have changed your ways however. My respect has definitely dropped since this game was released, I hope that will change but for now I just straight up don't trust you anymore. Edit: Bump or like if you agree, hopefully we can get some sort of a reaction from the REAL issues. Edit 2: Obviously I didn't get all the bugs in the raid, just the ones that were most noticeable to me. Edit 3: This post has received a lot of support which I didn't even expect. Keep it coming and hopefully Deej will see this (he claims that he does read a lot so let's see if he can say anything to address these issues)

      • They want to slow people down. Get all the raid gear and then you'll realize there is nothing new to this game lol. Bunch of old exotics that we barely used in year 1. And repeating the same old worn out strikes.

                    • I completely agree with this. The Atheon fight has bugs on top of bugs. They added a new layer of difficulty and bugs without resolving the previous issues people had (not teleporting 3, getting bugged into a different map when running through the teleporter, getting locked down by Atheon on hard even when you were teleported, etc.).

                      Patch is terrible..... Teleporting 2 or 1 guy cuz the random can be someone who dead already....so yh unpredicable and impossible if the 3 guy to get teleported are 2 dead guys and 1 alive, had this happen today alot.....but not that it means anything cuz insted of fighting the boss's you have to fight the sever to stay connected....i seriously hope you sack 90% of your dev team cuz this is the kinda shit i exspect from EA Also i agree were the hell is bad juju and thorn buffs? Do you need some of us to do your work for you? Guess your lucky this isnt on pc otherwise the modders would of fixed your game for you weeks ago

                      • Has bungie fixed the end screen bug at the end of the raid? Because honestly adding kill zones to Templar and randomizing atheons teleports should have been at the very bottom of the list of things to "patch" and by patch I mean break hell that should have been fixed before anything really it was the first thing everyone noticed

                          Deej doesn't read chit. If he did some of the communities issues would be addressed. Instead nerfbat patches abound with only one agenda... Slow down player progress. Played Templar as relic holder last night, couldn't do any damage to the Oracles.. Where is the patch for these issues....? *crickets chirping* Good reasonable post BTW.

                          • Where the F is the story we've been led to expect? Where's the customization? Where is the dynamic open world we were promised and shown in E3 demos and YouTube videos? How can I forge my own personal legend when there seems to be only ONE approved path toward legend, the path that the developers choose for me, not a path I choose for myself? The raid patch is neither here nor there for me, though I think it is symptomatic of a larger problem, the problem being that the community's voice, the customer's preference, is going either unheard or disregarded. In an age of crowdsourcing, crowdfunding, vast online communities and a time when a consumer has the ability to have direct input into products he/she cares about I find it disconcerting that bungee/activision seems to be ignoring the trends of its own community. As a community we are invested in this game, at $60 a pop definitely financially, but also emotionally. We have high expectations of bungee based on it's brilliant Halo series. We have high expectations, still, of Destiny. We are varied community of gamersthat range from RPG enthusiasts to PVP badasses. Maybe those two things can't coexist? And maybe it's time to stop trying. I've been reading the boards for the last two months and I've heard a resounding call for more RPG/PVE/MMO type elements in this game. People, myself included, appear to want deeper, Richer, more layered storytelling. They want a world they can invest in and live in for the few precious hours a day they can spend with destiny. People seem to want avatars that they can customize as a means of expression and individualization. They want surprise and dynamism, A world in flux in which they feel like they can affect some change. As it stands right now destiny is static, utilitarian, a place without surprise or innovation. How can I feel a legend when every day I do the same thing over and over, enemies spawn in the same place, nothing ever changes. I don't feel like a legend I feel impotent and ineffectual within the world of destiny. In fact it feels as if you're latest patch punishes innovation rather than rewards it. This is a heartbreaking development coming from bungie studios… It was halos INNOVATIVE gameplay and storytelling but pushed bungie to the forefront of FPS development. Please return to your roots. Patches that address player creativity and innovation are not supportive of a world we want to be invested in. Your community grew, in a large part, because of the way in which these innovations were shared. The way in which a community would grow organically in the real world. What you have done is divisive. If I find an exploit, a way to beat the boss quickly and efficiently, why would I share it now? My fear is that that information would get around and developers would "patch" it so that it couldn't be used again in the future, thereby spoiling my own innovation and creative thinking so that I couldn't use it for myself. Please stop ignoring your community. Reward the players that spend the time in your world. Let your community grow and support itself by being able to share creative problem-solving solutions. Instead of patching,innovate and create, give us new things to do within this world make it dynamic make it surprising, make it fun. Don't punish your players, learn from them. You're seeing an abundance of creativity, innovation, problem-solving, communication and community development and support. Learn from it, grow from it, incorporated into destiny.

                            • I used to say I loved bungie and couldn't wait for their next game to come out. Now I say I loved marathon infinity and wish bungie would make a game 1/2 its quality again. I will NEVER preorder another game produced by either Bungie or Activision

                              • Bungie needs to watch "Video Games: The Movie" on netflix... there, many developers say how much of a pleasure it is to see gamers finding new and unexpected ways to play through their content, that doing so demonstrates true strategy and ingenuity... why is Bungie so butt-hurt about gamers being gamers??

                                • They just need to at least apologize and roll back the Atheon patches and nerfs. They have thousands upon thousands of people complaining and asking for answers. I understand mistakes happen, but you fix those mistakes and do something to make amends. Bungie please.. I'm not here to curse your name. I love Destiny. But it's time to face the music.

                                  • Never experienced problems 2,3, and 4. I had an epic moment where randoms that I played with were being overwhelmed by oracles because only 2 were warped to mars. I saved the day by opening up mars portal and activating my Golden Gun. I then ran through the portal and killed all the excess oracles. Killed Atheon right after everyone got out of the portal and prevented a wipe. There are a lot of other bugs that I wished Bungie would fix when they put in the baby bumpers. You can be sent to mars or venus with a suppression field. Sometimes the Minotaur in venus will not take damage and your hits will not register. The biggest game ruining bug for Atheon would be the fact that his splash damage will still kill you even though you are within the relic shields dome. Even the relic holder who is at the very epicenter of the dome can still be hit by the splash damage. On a side note: Bungie did a poor job at fixing this Atheon knock off glitch. Now all I ever see is Atheon standing in mid air. It makes the raid look even buggier even though bugs are "fixed". It is just unprofessional. Now the way they should have fixed it was simply change the AI so that Atheon will no longer retreat or move away from AoE, but rather just ignore the AoE. He is already a bullet sponge, what is a few extra DPS going to do.

                                    The feedback for the random teleports was overwhelmingly negative from the minute of its announcement. They did it anyway. They don't give a shit about feedback. Let's hit them where they will notice. We pay their salaries. I'm holding onto buying their pathetic DLC until I see the feedback being addressed. I'm sick and tired of reading every day to fix the -blam!-ing voice chat, to fix the -blam!-ing exotics, yet they take priority on doing shit no one asked them to do, like the random teleports. My money is going somewhere else until they get their heads out of their asses.
