Sorry for the delay. After consulting with the engineers I have learned some things I want to pass on. The Galaxy S2's (at least most of them) don't offer the support we need to render 3d. The same is true for some older S3's. Companion detects compatibility and chooses to show 3d if the experience will be a good one. Otherwise you just see the silhouette. The app could do a better job telling the user what's going on but we can't fix 3d for older devices trivially. We are working on ongoing improvements to 3d but we don't have specifics about what phones will be supported right now.

Still occurring for me. I have a Samsung galaxy on 5.

How is it that this is still an issue...just installed app on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0...unable to see character...only error message about device not supported
-
IDK I have a 2012 Nexus 7 and 3D character looked just fine on other companion apps
-
I think its just this lame Galaxy Tab 4...it has issues even playing movies in HD
-
Wow that is bad because even a older Nexus 7 Can play 3D movies with glasses I actually have a pair and I really enjoy it

Not working on mac...

I have the samsung galaxy tab 4. Also showing 3d not supported.
-
i just got my samsung tab 4 and says the same thing.

Its weird. You would think a new tablet would support it. Especially seeing as how it is definitely not outdated hardware.

I have a HTC one X and have black textures too

Edited by Inirit: 10/28/2014 9:29:38 PMWhat do you mean by "black textures"? There is the state where 3D rendering just doesn't work at all. In this case, a 2D black silhouette image is displayed in place of where the 3D model would be. That is the issue this thread is addressing and is the expected fallback result when the device does not support 3D rendering (or if its disabled for whatever reason). However, there is another state that we are aware of where a 3D model does get rendered, complete with animations and everything, but the entire model is completely black (i.e. not dark or dim (which is another issue), but 100% black). This scenario is separate from what users are reporting in this thread. If you are experiencing the second scenario, we could use more information about your device. Specifically, OS version and model number if available.

The second is my problem. I'm on the older nexus 7, 2012 I think, 16gb, cyanogenmod m10 grouper, (4.4.4) I can see and spin everything, but they're all black.

Alright. I assumed that was the case. Thanks for the information!
