Why there needs to be a trade system of some sorts

Please read the ideas for how to restrict the trade system before voting or replying... I fought through the Night Fall at the Devils Lair a couple times with my friends last week. I had roughly double their kills, so I had a feeling that I might get something good. Then the loot dropped and I saw that they both had gotten The Last Word, which is the only Exotic that I have any interest in. I think I got a Rare or Legendary Scout Rifle. One of my friends has no need or want of the Last Word, but he does want my Hard Light auto-rifle , which I don't want. We both want to trade, but we can't, so we're stuck grinding and praying for the RNGzus to drop something we want. I saw that Bungie said they don't want a trade system because they want everyone to have "epic stories" behind how they got their Exotics, but what epic stories could you have from a completely random loot drop? "Hey, how'd you get the Regime?" "Oh, well me and some friends did stuff, then the game randomly threw stuff at us based on none of the stats in the activity." "Oh, cool I guess..." You can ask me how I got any of my exotics (excluding the ones earned in the Exotic Weapon Bounties) and there's a good chance I won't be able to remember. RESTRICTIONS: So the obvious question becomes if there was a trade system how do you stop it from being abused? 1. My preferred method is an equal two-way transaction, meaning I give you an Exotic and you give me an Exotic in return, Legendary for a legendary, so on and so on. This would limit people just handing off high end stuff to low levels. 2. You could require the people trading to be in the same match when the loot was "awarded" 3. Only allow trades between clan/group members, to make an extra hoop for people to jump through before trading. ^If you have restriction ideas please leave them below The combination of a completely random loot drops and lack of any sort of trade system is the most frustrating thing to me in the game. P.s. To just add a bit more pain to predicament, both my friend were given the Last Word on my birthday. It was like a little extra "F*** you" to me.

I feel a trading system would ruin the point of the game. Which is play it till you get the gear you want(weekly resets for a reason) I would one of those people handing out so many items to people. My luck is duplicates of the items I already have. Three slots of characters equals one of each class(hopefully, due to some people making duplicates) So if you get an item that's not for your class that's equipped you can use the vault. Also who doesn't like the glory of seeing what you dropped and not your friend's
