Agreed that anyone can be pushed off of a ledge, but those are straight up enemies all over the place.
In the case of Atheon though, there's a painstakingly designed set of tasks and events that occur that an entire team has to master together to beat him. While I agree it's Bungie's bad that he's able to be pushed off, the fact that they are patching it makes it evident that this one got by them. It wasn't an intended "option" for conquering Atheon. :)

However playersnwill never truely know what is intended and what isnt intended unless the devs say something . Honestly the more mechanics that are active the more possible solutions exist. In order for bungie the have the only intended solution to be usable they would have to either anticipate every possible solution and clever use of game en design or completely nullify all non relevant mechanics. I however think bungie should be designing the levels to be used as part of a solution instead of just to look pretty.

But they did say something. When the Atheon encounter patch was announced they specifically addressed this.
