When bungie was making this raid I'm 100% certain, they didn't say hey lets let them push him off and bypass the whole fight.

"We are so sorry dear guardians it seems that we were too Fking lazy to give atheon a code that tells him to not jump off cliffs, but now that you all know we will fix it by adding baby bumpers instead of adding in that code" Ya they're just a buncha lazy bastards.

They even have day zero access if you pre order it. So you can have a day to get ahead of everyone that didn't preorder it. It's much easier to play than Destiny.
