dead space had the best jumpscares...this was mediocre at best

This isn't about the jump scares, it is about the story behind the jumpscares.
-
so it is loosely based off of some murders in '93 big whoop evil within and slenderman are probably going to be just as mediocre
-
Look, this video was about the parallels between a game and a real life murder. Not about how good the game was. If you want to do that, you should find a different thread.

evil within and slenderman are based on real life MURDER....so yeah...

Edited by Jphn_33: 10/26/2014 3:38:29 AMIt's about the story. Not the gameplay. The Evil Within doesn't have as many parallels as this game. Most everything in Five Nights at Freddy's has symbolism and meaning. By the way, Slender is based off of a fictional character created by the Internet and some German works of art.

again...they are based on true stories there is a ton of symbolism and meaning in those games...

Edited by Jphn_33: 10/26/2014 3:45:56 AMThe Evil Within was most likely based on psychological testing, and the enemies have symbolism within the game, such as the Laura monster being a skewed monstrosity of Ruvik's dead sister, who burned alive. And Slender might have been based on unexplained murders, but I have to wonder what the pages symbolize. Please, tell me what the symbolism is in both games, and the specific murders they were based on. If you do, I'd be more than happy to read about them.

slenderman http://techcrunch.com/2014/06/30/the-story-of-slenderman-the-internets-own-monster/ this includes stories where people committed crimes and murders in the name of slenderman

The problem is that the murders happened after the game game out. Slender came out in 2012, while the murders occurred in 2014, after the fact. There is no doubt, though, that those murders are chilling and horrible in and of themselves. Thank you for providing the link, though. It was honestly a good read
