People who are complaining about the Iron Banner gear getting people up to 30, are just foolish. Theres already speculation, that the next raid will have gear that will boost people up to lvl 32. So wouldnt that render VoG gear pointless? Somewhat, at least. So whats the big deal about being +1 level higher, seeing as most of the people who will benefit from the IB gear, are probably already 29. AND, really in the long run, this is more catering to the PvE player. Yes you get the armor from PvP, but what exacty is the difference between level 30 gear and level 29? Defense and light, meaning the only difference would be an advantage in PvE and the occasional Iron Banner. How exactly does this effect you people who are level 30 already? Aww poor babies dont have bragging rights anymore. Think about it, more level 30s means more people who can actually help in Hard Raids. Thus Iron Banner gear will only be a crutch until otherwise receiving better raid gear. ITS NOT A BIG DEAL! Acquiring Raid gear takes NO SKILL, Completing the raid does RNG decides your fate. Just because there are some people who made 3x same character to complete the raid 3x a week, and got unlucky several times and finally after several more trys, were able to get to 30, doesnt mean that there arent the opposite, where some person used one character, got lucky and got all 3-4 raid gear in 1-3 games. Everyone who has worked so hard to get the raid gear and reach level 30 should be happy about this and quit complaining. If you havent realized that Bungie is going to balance every aspect of this game, the you are blind. Im sorry if your favorite gun got nerfed because it hits too hard or you cant loot the same cave for hours, but these are not the way Bungie intended people to play. No, im not trying to be a "white knight", protecting Bungie. Psssh, i think they've made more mistakes than they have to celebrate, but this Iron Banner gear is not one of those bad decisions. It will give opportunity to those less fortunate without either friends or a group to play with or they do not have the time to spend hours gearing up. And besides, its not like Iron Banner is giving out Vex Mythoclasts :P

  • Acquiring raid gear takes no skill? Let's see you go ahead and play hard mode raid where you can only get the helmets.

  • You people confuse skill with being lucky, I swear. It's ridiculous. Someone was saying on the forums that they did hard raid last night TWICE and got 2 ships. Imagine if armor was the goal.

  • You do know you have beat the bosses in the raid to even get a chance at rewards? In PVP, I can sit on my hands and get an engram!

  • Right yeah, that goes without saying, bosses have to be beaten. The reward could be nothing pretty much, just like the Crucible's. That blue engram you got will amount to dog poop and you know it. Even if you were #1.

  • Beating boss with 6 guys > getting rewarded for going AFK for 10 minutes

  • Yeah, my comprehension is pretty good, are we still on the same page here? You don't always get rewarded in the Crucible. You most definitely won't get recognized for best and worst, most of the time. If you get anything it's usually blue or green and the blue's underpowered. Rare cases might see a strange coin, I saw an exotic once that was given out. You can't call these rewards, it's just all chance. 90% of the time it's nothing or something worth nothing.

  • And yet in IB, you can do the same thing and get rep and xp!

  • Yeah, that one's a little different, you can wear your faction items and get all kinds of multiple rep. It's pretty generous. I earned Timur's Lash and Suros from the IB, but I was in the upper-middle somewhere. I'm thinking being idle won't be as forgiving/rewarding.

  • They didn't address in update so you can bet nothing has changed. In fact they made it worse. You get rewards for losing!

  • "earned" as in "obtained" I use that term loosely. Random stuff, man.

Lol you're not reading the terms correctly. ACQUIRING. You did not do any specific task to aquire your raid gear, it was a random drop. I did, however, say that it does take skill to complete a raid. But you did not get your gear because u were skilled, u got ur gear cuz the RNG gods blessed you and you got LUCKY You're basically one of those people who thinks they "earned" their exotic weapon because they got it from a purple engram. Lmao smh Someone's butthurt :P Aww poor level 30 warlock is mad cuz he luckily got all his gear within a month, and now Bungie is "taking away his glory". Hahhahahaahahahahahaha

  • Um...yes I did. I beat the oracles, the Templar, the gatekeeper, and Atheon. What specific thing in PVP are people doing to get rewarded? Please tell us the secret!

Wow you people just dont get it. People get all the raid gear within 1-3 games. Other people get the all raid gear in 30+ games. ITS ALL ABOUT LUCK. I said yes it takes skill to finish the raid. Yes it takes skill to get past the first gate. Yes it takes skill to kill the Templar. Yes it takes skill to get past the maze. Yes it takes skill to kill the Gatekeeper. Yes it takes skill to kill Atheon. BUT, NO IT DOES NOT TAKE SKILL TO GET A RANDOM RNG DROP (which is how you get the raid gear). You really dont understand? Then idk how else to explain it to you. I never said it will be a specific task to get the level 30 gear in Iron Banner. But i did say that either way you get level 30 gear, is through luck, not skill, therefore anyone who is upset about the level 30 gear getting people up there, strictly because they think they "earned" their raid gear, those people need to shut up and roll with it. Just cuz you desperatly attempted the raid several times without any luck, doesnt mean there arent other people who have full raid gear, who did get lucky and were able to get it within 3 games. Having full raid gear does not show you are a skilled player. It does, however, show you are a dedicated, persistent player. Thats it. The end. Yet again you people have no idea how to read context clues, or even understand the main point of what i was saying. Drop it, we're on two different pages, and will never be on the same one. Bye

  • In order to even get the chance in Raid, you have to complete a task. You still haven't explained the skillful tasks needed to be done in PVP to be deserving of light 30 gear? Is camping in a corner while going out shopping skill?

Lol wow. All ive done is provided valid points, yet you rebuttle with a child's metaphor. Thats cute man. Yet again, i never said what task you have to do in Iron Banner. Cuz obviously i dont know yet. But either way you acquire level 30 gear, it takes more luck than skill. You are not guarenteed raid gear after completing a specific part of the raid, therefore you cant say you earned it, it was given to you. I have raid arms for both my hunter and warlock. I have the raid ship. I have several chatterwhites, and ive even gotten Thunderlord from the raid I DID NOT EARN ANY OF THESE THINGS. THEY WERE GIVEN TO ME RANDOMLY

  • Dev update did not mention tasks and last IB did not have any either. LOL @ thinking you would have to do actual difficult tasks like Raid in AFK PVP.

  • Lets put it in the most simple words i can so your middle-school brain can absorb it: If you got the weapon/gear through RNG, then it did not take skill to acquire it. Thats all ive been saying. I never said that the Iron Banner gear would take more skill to acquire than the VoG. I never said you would have to complete a task to acquire IB gear. I wouldnt know, they havent release IB 2.0 yet, but they did say it will be different, and they did say the gear will be better. Which leads you to assume it would take some sort of effort to receive it. Same with VoG, only takes effort and luck to acquire raid gear, no skill. If there was a system in place where the raider with the most kills or best k/d or least deaths or whatever, is guarenteed good gear, then yes i would say it takes skill to acquire the gear, but thats not the case. It is random. I could join a game at the Atheon checkpoint, push him off the cheap way, get a raid helmet. NO SKILL INVOLVED. My point is people who already got to level 30 through VoG, should not think they are more superior than those who get to level 30 through other means. It makes no sense. You think that you earned it through great feats of strength and skill. Lol no you didnt, you got lucky. These same people are now mad at Bungie for allowing other ways to get to a level cap that means absolutely nothing. Yet again, makes no sense Keep embarassing yourself kid. You continue to proove you have an illiteracy problem. You keep putting words in my mouth. I never said any of that. You're assuming everything, while knowing absolutely nothing. Im done arguing with a 12 year old. Theres literally no way around you people. You think you're right, without little evidence or reason. Smh what a waste of oxygen.

  • You haven't explained anything considering you never answered what specific tasks are required to get a chance at 30 light armor in PVP? And no, sitting for 12 hours a day in crucible doesn't count.

Fyi, you get kicked half way through the match if you're AFK. And yet a-fcukin-gain i NEVER said there would be a task. YOU'RE TWISTING MY WORDS. Get a life troll. You need to go back to school and learn how to read Plus, you dont know either. How do you know the IB gear wont be hard to get? Source? Exactly. YOU DONT KNOW. So you have no evidence that IB gear will be any less respectable than Raid gear. And like i said in my original post, level 30 is a temporary cap, so why does it matter how people get to 30? Before 2015, level 30 will be the new level 28. Having a high level doesnt make you good, but you can keep telling yourself that if you want.
