New Iron Banner gear now gives you 30 light...
Incase you didn't read the update, when the Iron Banner returns you'll now be able to buy armour that you can upgrade to give you 30 light, although you can only equip 2 Iron Banner armor to your guardian in theory, you'll only need 1 exotic 1 raid gear and 2 Iron Banner gear, or 2 raid gear and 1 Iron Banner to hit level 30. Basically its making it ALOT easier for people to get to level 30, which I think is BS. Again Bungie undoing all the the hard work players have done to reach level 30 in the raid and yet again providing no incentive at all for players at level 30 to play this playlist. What are all your thoughts?
EDIT 1- Try and think in the long term, i'm not saying this is a bad idea, but what after the event is over, and the game has thousands more players at level 30, what will people have to work towards then?

3 RepliesScrew what it looks like i just want more attack speed on my gloves hopefully if there is 30 light gloves it will have the attack speed bonus that the 27 light gloves has Are you guys blinded by the way your character looks that you forgot that the bonuses on the armor you have plays a large part in the way you fight, hopefully the titan gear will give discipline because i'm sick of only getting gear with strength not that strength matters that much too a striker titan if i was gonna melee something i shoulder charge it

Just because you are level 30 doesn't mean that you put more work into the game. There are numerous people who have beaten the VoG on normal and hard several times that haven't gotten raid gear all due to RNG.

2 RepliesIt's not easier because according to the tremendous amount of whiners and cry babies in these forums, most of them declare that they don't like to play crucible, sooooo Iron Banner now makes it possible for someone like me who likes crucible more than raiding a path to lvl 30. Sounds like proper balance to me.

I see nothing wrong with this, it allows people who don't have time to do the raid very much to get to a higher lvl.

Future raids come out increase light level, iron banner will then be behind. so only players that have DLC access will be higher levels. don't worry about the iron banner if you have the expansions.

Jesus all people were bitching about before was that all level 30s look the same. This just adds some differences to the character models and prevents people from getting screwed over by RNG week after week after week. Plus by the time this drops the dark below will be just around the corner and the highest level will be raised to 32 requiring dark below raid gear to level.

It'll take some time and a lot of playing to get the rank to buy the gear. Plus you'll have to have the shards for them which drop the most in the raid still. Also the Dlc in a month and a half so 30 won't be maxed. Stop whining.

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but "Crota's End" raid is supposed to have gear that'll help push past 30.

I got my raid helm and mythoclast this week so I was planning on just running the normal raid once a week from now on while catching up on about 3-4 other games that came out recently. Y'know borderlands presequel, shadow of mordor etc. Now I have incentive to PvP beyond maybe getting a new weapon. Which has only happened once in memory (getting an upgrade to my current one that is)

I really just do not understand this whole mentality that seems to be rather prevalent in the destiny community of "i'm no longer the only level 30 so it doesn't matter anymore". Having other people have a different avenue with which to hit 30 doesn't devalue any of your raid gear or your level so what does it matter if more people hit 30 using gear other than that obtained from the raid? It's really just kinda sad and pathetic that it matters that much to some people that they don't want anyone else to hit 30 unless they do it the way they did which is based largely on luck anyways. It doesn't take that much skill to beat the raid honestly, it's not easy but it's not that difficult either so long as you know what to do, and have decent gear & weapons. Where as in pvp when your faced with other intelligent reactive players who's actions are not repetitive and predictable(for the most part) it does take a certain level of skill to do consistently well and win matches, especially when your playing with a random team that you've never played with before. On a sidenote as someone who has consistently done the raid on normal for the past 6 weeks and been doing the raid on hard and normal for the past 3 weeks and still has not received the pair of boots iv'e needed to hit 30 since week 2 of doing the raid i'm happy they've upped the banner gear to 30 because the gear they had available the last time was useless to me compared to my raid gear, now me and other raiders actually have an incentive to play the iron banner.

It's only two pieces I think. And even then I don't understand why anyone would want lvl 30 if they only play pvp. It has zero effect on you. The only people who even need lvl 30 are the ones doing the raid on hard.

Iron banner gear will probably be generally better then raid gear except in the raid I believe. This should be shown when it has generates an orb of light when ______ happens. But those _____ will not be raid specific so it can be something like percision or melee kills. However if they are pvp specific like "on guardians" is added then the gear will become really over powered on crucible because youll be generateing so many extra orbs that the gear could give someone a super much earlier then they already get it

11 RepliesRaiders will be more picky now that there are more 30s. They'll probably look at your gears and if you have IB gears they'll kick you off the team. Or they'll post, looking for 30s to do hard vog, no ib gears.

2 RepliesI agree with you. Furthermore, PvP players (who this is largely aimed at) don't need to be lvl30, as no Crucible activities require it, whilst PvE players, who need to be level 30 for the sake of the VoG on hard, gain relatively nothing from this.

I mean if you think about it this makes perfect sense. How many people here hate grinding PvP for stiff like exotic bounties and crubicle marks because you don't like PvP? From past posts I read there are tons. Now, what about pvpers that hate grinding raids and strikes for weapons/gear because they don't like pve? And I don't know about you guys but I've had horrible luck with raid gear drops. Out of 10+ runs I have had 2 raid gear drops and they were the same. I welcome a way to actually buy level 30 items.
