New Iron Banner gear now gives you 30 light...
Incase you didn't read the update, when the Iron Banner returns you'll now be able to buy armour that you can upgrade to give you 30 light, although you can only equip 2 Iron Banner armor to your guardian in theory, you'll only need 1 exotic 1 raid gear and 2 Iron Banner gear, or 2 raid gear and 1 Iron Banner to hit level 30. Basically its making it ALOT easier for people to get to level 30, which I think is BS. Again Bungie undoing all the the hard work players have done to reach level 30 in the raid and yet again providing no incentive at all for players at level 30 to play this playlist. What are all your thoughts?
EDIT 1- Try and think in the long term, i'm not saying this is a bad idea, but what after the event is over, and the game has thousands more players at level 30, what will people have to work towards then?

It sorta makes sense. It's pretty much confirmed that the level cap is going to be increased with the DLC. This will be done by using items to over level your current gear (think there called like glass shards or something like that). Because of the level cap increase (which will be needed for lvl 32 hard raid with DLC), bungie wants to enable more players to experience the endgame content. The fact that this new iron banner gear can only be used on two slots means the player has to have done the Vault of Glass once or twice or maybe more. Personally for me this new iron banner gear is a life saver. I've done the Vault of Glass five times and received only a single piece of raid gear. Should my bad luck with RNG restrict my ability to reach lvl 30? This is just my opinion and I understand if others don't agree. Sorry for the longer read, didn't think it would be this long.

2 RepliesWhat hard work? I've run the raid many times and yes I am lvl 30 but I have friends who have run it nearly double the times I have but can't get 30 due to RNG. Takes little skill, a lot of people get carried too so there is no way of ever knowing how you any given person got there.

Especially since its a pvp event. As it stands the iron banner is just a big middle finger to crucible players.

Yea what was the point of the raid then? Dont need three raid gear pieces to get to 30 with the new iron banner gear. I guess its pretty much just to get the vex...oh wait, they already ruined that gun.

Meaning as of now theres literally no difference between a 29 and a 30 except for the number. 30s are not stronger nor do they have access to anything a 29 doesnt have 2nd of all lets be real here. Rank 5 in IB is probably not going to be a joke. I reckon itll take a lot longer for people to get those 2 pieces than it takes a lot of raiders to get a full set... Stop acting like raiding is the end all be all...

You think its BS, well I think its good because I've seriously done the raid NUMEROUS times and got a chest piece. Remember I've done this raid probably 20+ times now and all I get is -blam!-ing ascendant material. I think this is a way for me to say -blam!- you to this stupid loot system and get to level 30 already. And to answer your last question, what do level 30s do anyways? -blam!-ing nothing exactly. I should be level 30 by now but this stupid loot system is keeping me from getting there. If [b]grinding[/b] on pvp is what I have to do to get the armor pieces this game has cheated me out on, fine I'll do it, I dont give a shit what other people think. Level 30s dont need anything to begin with [u]because theyre level 30s so its not like they need better armor or anything![/u]

there need to be good rewards for competing in the Iron Banner I think it should be like an Exotic and you can only wear one IB armor just like VoG

You need high rank to get them. Two slots only, not all 4 for the IB gear. You need to raid at least once to get to 30, 2 IB and 2 raid or 1 raid 1 exo and 2IB etc... You could raid 30 times to get that one piece you need and will probably get the raid equiv slots of the IB gear you just got, meaning you just wasted shards if you upgraded those IB's! The IB gear wont have the raid benefit perks on them. Blah!

Not everyone has the time or the friends to do the raid, the paid the same amount for the game and they deserve to get to level 30

I think it's amazing. I am lvl 29 and have been stuck for ages cos I can't get the raid chest piece after 16 raids..... Although I have the iron banner chest so may help now

There are actually four pieces of Iron Banner gear, but I believe only two will be made available during an IB event. Same goes with the Queen's Wrath event. Next time we will probably receive the legs and gauntlets as rewards. And where did people read that the next raid will increase level cap? Because when the dlc content leaked a couple of weeks ago I read that the raids where lv28 normal/ lv30 hard? Why would you care that more players will reach lv30? It's actually a good thing.We need more strong allies to fend of the Darkness. (^~^)
