New Iron Banner gear now gives you 30 light...
Incase you didn't read the update, when the Iron Banner returns you'll now be able to buy armour that you can upgrade to give you 30 light, although you can only equip 2 Iron Banner armor to your guardian in theory, you'll only need 1 exotic 1 raid gear and 2 Iron Banner gear, or 2 raid gear and 1 Iron Banner to hit level 30. Basically its making it ALOT easier for people to get to level 30, which I think is BS. Again Bungie undoing all the the hard work players have done to reach level 30 in the raid and yet again providing no incentive at all for players at level 30 to play this playlist. What are all your thoughts?
EDIT 1- Try and think in the long term, i'm not saying this is a bad idea, but what after the event is over, and the game has thousands more players at level 30, what will people have to work towards then?

I mean if you think about it this makes perfect sense. How many people here hate grinding PvP for stiff like exotic bounties and crubicle marks because you don't like PvP? From past posts I read there are tons. Now, what about pvpers that hate grinding raids and strikes for weapons/gear because they don't like pve? And I don't know about you guys but I've had horrible luck with raid gear drops. Out of 10+ runs I have had 2 raid gear drops and they were the same. I welcome a way to actually buy level 30 items.

9 RepliesThere needs to be more than one way to progress to cap level. Raiders always feel like they deserve the best stuff when most take advantage of glitches and exploits in every mmo I've ever played and call it tactics. Many people don't like to waste time finding people to raid with and also don't play during peak hours, which makes it even harder to reach the top. I have played a lot and only managed to make a couple brief trips into the VoG. You're right though... screw players that can't play when the majority of people play. Screw people who don't play exactly like you. The selfish nature of gamers in mmos these days is a sick glimpse at our youth's spoiled self entitlement. Why does someone else having fun playing the way they like have ANYTHING to do with yours?

As a level 30 I'm a little bit worried, although as long as there is a clear benefit of doing the raid over iron banner it's cool with me

If they have iron banner gear on and no raid weapons, it's a no go. Edit: oh butt hurt people, this comment was aimed at the intension of doing the raid on [u][b]HARD[/b][/u], not normal... Butt hurts are butt hurt indeed.

Aren't we all just getting a little too greedy and selfish, not wanting another players to reach the same level as us? If that's the case then why are so many players creating lvl 30 only raid groups and such?

Iron banner should give feets, ATM you need 3\4 raid pieces to hit 30 and feets are the only that you don't have others options... and yea, I'm 29 coz raid don't wanna drop that piece -_-

I find it to be okay, some people hate the PvE of this game. Heck some only play PvP. And the same goes the other way. Some people cant stand PvP and love PvE. It should be normal that there are lvl 30 armour acquirable from PvP or PvE. The game should cater to both group of players. I mean woudn't someone who dislikes PvP hate it if the only set of lvl 30 armour was initially only acquirable from PvP instead of PvE. Well that is how some players feel right now, in fact I have a friend who only plays PvP and reckts people but will never get to 30 no matter how many hours he spends because lvl 30 gear is only on raid right now. I believe that the concern people have for the lvl 30 pvp gear is that it will be too easy to acquire while the raid takes a lot of time and luck. And I agree, both lvl 30 gears should be equally hard to get . anyways this is what i think :P -puts my flame shield on- -let the flaming begin-

After I hit 30 with my Warlock I immediately started a Titan and Hunter so I could raid 3x as much! Believe it or not as much as I love the gear and rewards going through the raids with a group of friends or strangers is the highlight of the game..

I think it is good but tht you have to be like rank5 iron banner and tht ut cist 150 to 200 crucible marks

Dlc , think about it, iron banner will no dout fall in the middle of November . Then everyone will be 30, or closer to, come the dlc. So it actual makes really good sense, with only 19.6% of the player base having finished the raid on normal. It will be perfect timing for them to the raise the lvl cap. People need to remember that if your at 30, your a minority . Bungie are just insuring people want to carry on with there "story".

Dude it's better than everyone having to grind the raid all the time. I've been at level 30 for weeks and I'm still having fun.

Do people really stop playing cause they reach level 30? I play Destiny cause i like the multiplayer and thinks it's fun. Also, no one has forced anyone to do the raid 20 times, especially if it's considered to be hard work. I have done it maybe 5 times, and that is more than enough for me (got 2 pieces). Now i just wait for another way to get the rest of the 30 gear. I don't want to spend more time in PvE than i have to, and since there will be more raids and events in the future that will give me that gear, i can instead focus on what i consider fun in the game. So if you consider it hard work to do raids, then don't, and do the parts of the game you enjoy instead. Everyone will have 30 gear eventually. And hopefully everyone not look identical.

Seeing as the level system isn't really a true reflection of how good or bad you are at this, I wouldn't have thought it really mattered. Usually you would assume someone who has levelled up as much as is possible must be skilled at all aspects of the game, but you're always levelling up up to 20 and then beyond that is just getting lucky with drops/ acquiring materials. If your level = how good you are at the game, yeah I can see that'd be irritating that it's been made more accessible for those not at it yet to get there, but it's a good way for those who don't want to/ have no time to raid or have been unlucky with drops to have a different means to max out their character.

I disagree completely. Like one person said, it gives more options for level 30 armor. And I'm assuming it won't be easy to get knowing Bungie. I was glad to hear this. Plus, I've been in the VoG multiple times but have never gotten any armor. Only a gun and ascendant shards. All of that hard work for nothing. I can't wait for the Iron Banner to come back. Also, there will be more than just 2 guns to buy. I didn't want either one.

Not everyone is as lucky as you are, so stop complaining. Ive also done the raid so many times and i only got 2 piece of raid armor. All of them are exotic and legendary weapons and some -blam!-ing cosmetic ship. I have 2 vision of confluence, 2 praedyths revenge, 2 vex mythoclast, found verdict, hard light, universal remote, and i only have 1 raid helm and 1 raid gloves.

I fail to see what exactly their is to do after the raid at this point anyway. Once you've done it and possibly nabbed the good stuff, what's the point? It's not like it unlocks closed off areas or anything.

I hope that they make it so you can wear 4 pieces of iron banner armor. I for one enjoy having all my armor match. Its like wearing a shader without needing to.

you are lucky and with 1800 or 1900 grimoire have lvl 30....ok for done 10? 15? or - times the raid...ok But i done 20 in total (normal and hard) and have 2395 grimoire and platinium of this game and not have 30 yet, only 29´s..so....

We still don't know how difficult the armor will be though and how much playtime will be required for it. I suspect (or at least hope) that it will require so much effect that the people who can get the armor either have already reached Level 30, or have done the Raid enough times that if they don't have the full Raid armor set, it's because RNGesus hates them.
