I enjoy seeing people do good in Destiny's PvP. It really isn't that unbalanced and there's almost always a way to win. Good job.

  • Except when your team doesn't grasp the concept of objectives and runs past control points and instead insists on running past them for who knows what reason to kill people. I can't tell you the number of times my entire team runs right away from the point we spawn at initially.

  • Sometimes I will put the zone on hold to try and clear the area before capping, but I agree, zones need to be priority.

  • If I see people around the zone I try to clear them or position myself in a way I can hit them before they know what's going on. It's just crazy whenever there's no one around, three people spawn by c and the others just run past it and you're left alone while the enemy controls 2-3 zones already and no one plays smart. I try to avoid full random groups though as I find it's just unbearable without a friend. I often end up on teams where people lose every point and go in one by one to try to cap one and get slaughtered. Sometimes it makes me wish pvp was locked out til 15 or objective modes were locked further in so you played tdm and dm prior to playing control.

  • I try to play with friends but none of mine have any interest in PvP unfortunately. I agree though, its rough when noone goes for onjectives in an objective based game mode.

  • I have friends who do it, I just don't want to do it when I run into constant connection issues (whether on my end or there's consistently people in game that have huge delay in hit registration). Even with stupid teammates it'd be so much more fun without the lag issues I've encountered lol.

  • That's a problem with all PvP games though.

  • There's not really a way to win when that happens though. I didn't say it was exclusive to this game at all.

  • Well my original post was in regards to people's bashing of Destiny's PvP in particular.

  • Only thing unbalanced with it imo are certain weapons (like the Suros which Bungie has already said) being a bit too strong as well as the lag issues. If it weren't for lag problems it'd be amazing fun, but it's often enough I find it frustrating lol. Couldn't tell you how many times I just quit playing pvp because of teleporting people or delay in someone receiving damage and things. Or the people that kill you and turn around and run away then fall down dead due to a melee shot that hit them lol. By far my biggest problem is how connection quality seems to be low priority or there's some seriously overzealous lag compensation in game. I do wish they'd limit special weapon ammo a bit more, people running around with shotguns and fusions sort of defeats the idea of them being secondary type weapons, on top of the already shotgun friendly map design.

  • I agree completely. Bungie's primary PvP issue should be to fix Destiny's lag issues. I'm convinced that my K/D would be significantly better if my opponents would generally die when I actually kill them, not 1-3secs later when they've had a chance to get my health down enough. I also agree that special ammo should be lower. I'm fine with the effectiveness of shotties and fusions, just increase the latency between being able to use them.

  • I feel like my kdr would be better, but at the same time, it might not be. I would at least feel it'd be much more fair and where it should be, rather than frustratingly dying and seeing the person fall dead seconds later or shot around corners and things like that. That's what matters to me though, at least then it would be fair and as it should be, not due to bs. Fusion rifles might need a slight nerf for them, but at least reducing the frequency that you can use them basically. Make it so that you can't run around and shotgun/fusion the entire time. That would at least be a really good start, if nothing else.
