Try to do at least one world event per day, per character. You'll be guaranteed to earn vanguard marks and at least one ascendenct material (in the mail.). You can send ascendenct materials to the vault to use where needed. Ascendent Energy: upgrade material for legendary/epic weapons Ascendent Shard: upgrade material for legendary/epic armor items
