You probably havn't read the lore, because the vex are capable of time travel and wiping you from existence just by looking at you. We don't know much about the true power of the Fallen, Hive, or Cabal yet. We only eliminated house of devils and most of house of winter, and they could be pretty weak houses. The hive are arguably the strongest we have seen so far, and they have magic essentially from what we have seen. The cabal are likely to be the strongest, being that they are a military force that has conquered many many worlds, it is likely we only fight their mongrels in this game. But from fighting the vex in the vault of glass, we know they are exceptionally powerful beings and masters of warping time and space for their own goals. If it wasn't for Kabr forging their own tools against them, they would be a pretty much unstoppable force. And they succeeded in erasing some of the finest guardians of the galaxy.

Quite possible, they underestimated us and felt like fighting us. Or maybe once in their world they cannot reset time or they would get reset too? Since after you kill the heart you are transported back to Mars.

Edited by Saint Genji: 10/24/2014 11:40:17 AMThe entire cabal fleet could be quite a ways away, being that they are not from this galaxy. Their heavy planet destroying ordinance hasn't been seen yet. You probably just see a bunch of minor factions, like the fallen. I am sure Fallens House of Wolves is one to be reckoned with though. And I am sure when their eventual raid and DLC comes around we will see the better idea of the Cabal and their power. Edit: Not to mention they probably aren't as mindless killing machines as you would think, they were looking for the warmind on Mars, probably want to make sure nothing is useful on earth before just destroying it, the thing is if they wanted to they could. Just their motives aren't really clear at the moment.

you do know mars in real life has a moon or a couple moon that gaint astored is what in the gane around mars orbit is what the cabal did to the moon

Yeah the cabal flyers you fight in the dust place strike stopped it in its orbit so they can use it as a weapon

I think the fallen have the most potential cause they actually have a society system. Hive seem like bacteria that acts without conscious. Cabal are basically space the Kims of north Korea. Vex. They could just teleport back through time and kill kabr before he made the relic.

I wanted to say a little about the hive, they are essentially the darkness incarnate. They are the absence of the light, and they are on an unholy crusade to extinguish the light. Hopefully we encounter dark guardians like Dregden Yor in the DLC. The hive are intelligent, but are our polar opposites, they want to spread corruption and darkness. They have developed dark arts beyond our comprehension that appear as magic to our eyes, they aren't to be underestimated because they are essentially humans but instead of taking in the light they chose the darkness. So they have the potential to have very interesting concepts play out.

The Fallen have been reduced to a barbarian like culture using relics of their past as weapons and travel. They don't make new technology, they use their old stuff. The Servitors are the last real essence of what they once were, and the Primes therein. The connection still stands between the two and they can both reflect off each other but in the end the Fallen do remain dominant over the Primes, probable because they made them. The thing is, The Fallen were great. But are just a fragment of what they once were. Why this is is unknown, perhaps more is explained in the grimoires I don't have but currently the fallen are just space pirates. The Cabal however have technology and have conquered worlds, we don't know their potential because their motives aren't clear. but we do know that the Psions are intelligent, and those are just footmen Psion, disposable. I think the heart of the Cabal leadership will be nigh omnipotent psychic overlords that can mold the fabric of reality as they wish, or destroy a planet from space. All of that is unlikely but i do think they will have more to do with psychic ability in the Cabal. Their just isn't enough information on them, the brutes can just be genetically engineered war machines and the Psions are the real leadership. Who knows, they have the most potential because we know the lest about them.

You have a point about the psions considering the Cabal employed just 3 high ranking Psions to break into our most advanced AI ever created in the Dust Palace mission.

Yeah those flayers are the ones that stopped one of Mars's moons in its orbit so they could use it as a weapon.

They do it when we fight against them, but only in the raid. Which I think is good because the vault of glass is mentioned throughout the story. At a guess when the DLC drops we will get a similar length story culminating in a similar raid introducing another race's advanced creatures
