The idea that fusion rifles in general need to be nerfed strikes is, in my opinion, misguided. for the majority of fusion rifles, the charge times and spread put you at a severe disadvantage. When considering that it also takes pretty much a full burst to kill (If you can even hit those pesky hunters) you could say that they are evenly balanced. You should also take note of your own condition. Were you injured? Were you outnumbered? Did you land the majority of your shots? The variables to be taken into account when considering weapon balancing and whether a weapon (or weapon type) is overpowered are vast in their multitude. On a different note, each weapon type will have it's own "super weapons" - weapons that have good stats mixed with amazing perk combos which make them highly effective. Every weapon type has these kind of weapons (i.e. Shadow Price [When from engram/drops], Thunderlord, etc.). A final thing to consider: nerfing isn't always the best answer. Continually decreasing the effectiveness of specific weapons/types will often result in other weapons being considered to be the new "best option" and thus results in a balancing problem. Destiny PvP shouldn't have a "best option", Bungie said it themselves, Hence the changes across all weapon types. If you were to change ONLY fusion rifles then who's to say that shotguns or auto rifles don't become the new go-to weapons again? - not intended in an entirely serious manner, just an example. Please Note: I did not post this to alienate or offend anyone in any way. I am NOT in any way a professional gamer, I do NOT consider myself an expert in any way - for all I know Destiny's mechanics work in magical ways which I may never understand. Opinions are not fact, and I have merely provided an opinion. Anyway, have fun out there folks!

  • Even though they one hit you from stupid ranges, and i mean stupid ranges I can't believe some of the distances some of them kill you from. Please stop trying to make out they are hard to use and require skill and or timing They don't, it's hard to miss with them, which is why everyone is running around with them in multiplayer. Getting the timing down to charge and kill isn't hard at all when the majority of players arnt aware you have the weapon in your hands At least with a shotgun if you get too close to an enemy it's your own fault for getting one shotted. With the fusion you don't even need to to be near somebody, it's that easy to wreck with them that there's no point in even using any other weapons Come back to me after going up against a duo using them together. Guaranteed to you won't kill one of them before either of them one shots you

  • Well they are using team work, can you blame them for beating you? Two guys should generally win one guy!

  • Well said mate. I think people want nerfs for shotguns and fusion rifles is because the maps are so small. Bungie should bring longer range bigger maps.

  • That's actually something else that I have been thinking of discussing. For an open world game full of "wars" between the factions of darkness, there are relatively few large places to play in. You often feel underwhelmed by the faction confrontations. However the game does have it's moments. In terms of crucible: larger maps would be nice HOWEVER, you have to consider that you do not want to encourage snipers and scout rifles to camp us out. the other problem would be finding enemies - 6 players per team at max would not be very fun if you couldn't find the other 6 guys. There are plenty of benefits too. Bump it up to 12 players and you could have some pretty awesome games on really big maps - the problem is chatting with 12 people at once is hard at best. large maps Would provide that sense of scale that some are longing for though. Among the suggestions for large open areas with vast numbers of enemies to emulate a true battle scenario, the idea of a PvP WORLD has often popped up in my chats over Xbox Parties. A world where we can fight each other in a deathmatch style, as a clan or as a lone soul vying for supremacy. Ideas provided included a spawn hub, protected or random spawns etc. and user-designated/arranged clan events. This would allow for REAL clan integration. It would take quite some time to implement some of these things though so don't get your hopes too high about them happening soon / at all. but those are just ideas and personal opinions.
