Here is the logical problem with the OP:
If you are open to all viewpoints, then surely you are open to the viewpoint that identifying yourself with a group on a forum just to get attention can be considered distasteful social behavior. If everyone is to leave the group of people who behave like "gamer girl" alone, then we should also leave the group of "people who react negatively to attention-whoring" alone. I realize their method was less tactful than yours, but aren't you just performing the same social function as the people you were calling out?

That's some really whack logic. Change that to racism and you'll see how fatally flawed that is.
-
I'm talking about social behavior and norms; you're talking about identity. Different things. The people calling out gamer girl were calling out the behavior, not the gender.
-
Why was her behavior bad? Because she used "gamer girl" to get views? Sheeeet, man. We all use our subject lines to get views. If I could get views by putting "gamer guy" in my subject line I would. She's using the ammo she has and it worked. And all the blathering fools fell for it. Her behavior might have been slightly off, but the douche nozzles that jumped her ass were much much worse.

two wrongs dont make a right...

No, but three lefts do. That's my point though. If you don't like it keep your no no spot diddlers off the keyboard and move on rather than committing the SECOND wrong...
-
You talked about how people voice their opinions and what not right? I voice my opinion and now you are telling me not to? Interesting.
-
We all have opinions. I'm happy you have yours even if I don't agree with it. I'm not telling people to do this insomuch as saying I believe that's the way it should be done. I apologize for coming across the wrong way. I'm on hour 32.5 with .5 hours of sleep and my grumpiness mush be shining right through.

Well go get some sleep. Forums will always be here later haha.
