I bought it and can't wait to play it. Parallel this game to world of warcraft 1 month after launch. You couldn't kill the main story's protagonist until the 3rd expansion, please stop complaining that you didn't see 10 years worth of content for a game that has been out for one month. For the DLCs they are DLC not expansions. Did you complain about the vsmpire dlc in skyrim not having enough content probably not... it was one of my best experiances in that entire game. Give the game a chance before you move on. Edit One: just thought of a other anology to compare to. When you watched the first episode of a TV show eg: Lost did you say to your self this show is stupid it didn't tell me what the smoke monster is. No you watched it until they told you. That's destiny's story arc. One episode or content release at a time. Edit Two: you know after reading these comments and those of other posters I have come to the conclusion that most of you are hypocrites before you bitch and complain how disappointed and let down with content check your played time. If it's greater then 60 hours you have nothing to complain about. Sincerely, A Realist.

It would be like watching a film then being told 20 minutes were cut out, which you then had to pay for later to see why it ended the way it did. Not very satisfying and disappointing much like destiny

  • Whatever the story at one point in the development phase is gone or never existed in the first place, you nor I do not work at Bungie so we have absolutely no idea. Story's go through revisions... I'm sure epic novels aren't the first draft just pumped out to the press. I find it amusing that all of you that comment bashing how disappointed and bored you are still on average are greater then level 26, have at least 1 peice of raid gear and have multiple characters. You may call me whatever you wish but at least I'm not a hypocrite.

  • This is not a revision you honestly don't think Destiny has been hacked in order to sell at a later date? I bought a game then played it and I am not that happy with many things in it, which I have then expressed doesn't make me a hypocrite

  • I think people demanding free content are kidding themselves. People forget that Activision makes games to make money. I accept the game for what it is I'm not going to cry over 60 dollars or 15 dollars. If you have gotten more then 60 hours of game time out of it (Which you have) then you should be happy.

  • developers forget that people buy games to have fun....it doesn't matter if I get 100 hours out of the game if it wasn't fun. unfortunately many of us were willing to give bungie a few chances to improve this game and answer our questions and they have only made things worse... no matter... most of us will be gone within a year some within a month... you and the rest of the pushovers will have this trash all to yourself then.

  • thats more to do with how films need to keep within a certain time constraint so bits do need to be cut but on dvd they give you the added content that didnt make it if you wish to watch a film that go's over the time constraint games dont have this they can drag on as long as they wish often more content the better

  • Sorry, that's wrong. The director makes the movie as he sees fit. The producers (investors) decide if that version fits their vision of what they wanted to release. They change anything they want to, then release it. The director's cut is HIS version. Also, did you forget about Resident Evil: Director's Cut?

  • they tweak it abit and wont deny that plays apart in some movies mor than other probably and maybe to lower it that age rating to let teens watch it but im sure it was more time constraints why tons of lord of the rings were cut from cinema release dont play much resi but from what quick search so were on the same page that seems more like an original game with added content release a year and a half later and not "now its time to put back in that content we took out" but please correct me if im wrong

  • @rhaegis, umm, I didn't have to pay to watch the first ep of Lost, nor the any of them. So maybe your point is not valid.

  • The first episode of lost was really compelling. Destiny's story is not. The first episode of lost had you intrigued. Destiny's story leaves you wanting. People arent complaing about not having 10 years or content. They're complaining about not having 60 dollars of content.

Except you didn't have to pay extra to watch Lost, it was included in your regular cable bills. And you didn't get charged more and more as each season came out... Think of it this way - you see an ad on tv for a badass action movie coming out soon. There's trailers of awesome fight scenes, explosions, car chases, etc. Then the movie comes out and it turns out that none of the scenes from the commercial are in the film. As a master of fact, its not even an action film, its a romantic comedy. Absolutely nothing from the commercials (the reason you got hooked in the first place) made it into the final product. THEN to top it all off, the credits are followed by a teaser for the sequel, with the same clips from the original trailer with some added explosions car chases and fight scenes etc.. and then it says "COMING SOON!" Now I for one paid to watch the advertised movie, what about you? You can't sit there and say "quit complaining, the story will unfold over time in the next sequel" of course it will, that's not the point. The point is that the story we were advertised and paid for RIGHT NOW was a sweet Bruce Willis Arnold Schwarzenegger flick and we ended up getting some Ryan Gosling Rachel McAdams bullshit. Its a blatant slap in the face of the consumers. The game is fun, I love it, but its severely lacking in some departments. And the EXACT reasons that its lacking have been detailed in that video, specifically the obvious cut content that we can re-buy later this year. If you can't see what's obviously sitting right in front of you and choose to be blissfully ignorant instead, you're not a realist, you're an optimist, and a terrible one at that. edit: They're not DLCs, they're literally called expansions. But oh wait, could it be possible that they've been purposely mislabeled? They're giving us DLC content: minimal story progression, probably a couple new weapons and new shaders, but calling them expansions like they're gonna be a whole new plot line and villain coming into the mix when its really like one new instance and some pvp maps

  • Yeah, except they didn't put a scene with Smaug into the commercial for the first one and then not have it in the final product at all

  • I'm not here to push ideals I wanted to start a conversation peice nothing more, I know a lot of people on here make posts and demand bungie bend to their will but I would rather talk to other gamers and see what they think. Forums are discussion boards not podiums. There is no reason to attack people for an opinion.

  • Well my personal opinion is what product doest have its flaws be it games, movies, cars etc. I haven't played one game that I said to myself wow that was completely perfect in every way possible. One of my favorite games ever is dark souls that game has glarring flaws all over the place but it's still one of my favorite games. Flaws are relative.

  • Of course the game has flaws, and most of them don't bother me. But the lack of content and the fact it was obviously cut for the DLCs is really disheartening. Imagine you buy a car advertised as a v8 but after purchasing you realize it's only a v6, then the dealership tells you you can but the other 2 cylinders a couple months down the road

  • Well that's the gaming world we live in now. You cannot blame bungie for that. You can blame electronic arts for setting the market trends of that.
