You're whining about "rewards", but there aren't rewards guaranteed in the VoG. They're random chance lotteries. You're guaranteed rewards on lots of stuff, so go play those if you want to be certain to get something in exchange for your "hard work".
Personally I hope Bungie patches the game so that people who whine about not finding random stuff get through the VoG and can only ever get a troll face icon that breaks down to nothing for ever and ever and ever.
