This is a good vid. I think he would have an even stronger voice if he had filtered his profanity in places a bit more but I took away a few points worth nothing. The two fully built areas that are on your disc I had not seen that one of them was essentially done minus mobs. This changes my perspective on the locked on disc DLC significantly and personally I cannot justify purchasing The Dark Below without a truthful explanation from Bungie. Edit: That area might not be strike ready but why is it not patrol available for example? Dev comments on fully customized armor and trading This was a reminder as I had seen that referenced video before. Fully customized armor? What happened to that? I also agree with the points on the random loot system being designed to support player trading or a player driven economy which was obviously removed. Faction Wars/Crucible Marks While there is not specific proof offered, even in concept this makes so many things make so much more sense. The Crucible was not a training ground but a place where the factions war and that's why the faction vendors take Crucible Marks? Yeah, if that's the way it was implemented you would see so many of the critics regarding Exotic Weapon bounties requiring PvP disappear. Mine would. I would understand that Crucible is a part of the story experience. While I understand others would still want a PvE only path to those bounties it would still make more sense. Missions Younger Players Can Feel Good About Completing The entire T for Teen section is valid. I am a father and one of the main reasons I play (and want Destiny to succeed) is to have an activity with my two teenage sons who live 1000 miles from me. The younger of the pair is definitely not ready for the nuance and potential subterfuge of a player based economy but he does get genuinely excited about completing activities that I would comment on as commonplace around my older gaming friends. Hardware/framerates/level playing field I agree on the point of the base capabilities needing to be similar cross gen/ecosystem but disagree on the level playing field simply due to exclusive DLC. I am tied to the Xbox for the above (sons) reason. I didn't get the Dust Palace Strike and content that is coming in Dark Below won't be on my Xbox until Fall 2015 which is insulting. It's completely unreasonable to effectively ask me to pay the same price as a PS4 user so that they can play content I cannot on my dime (which is supporting the infrastructure cost of Destiny). We will assume the worst because that's what silence implies This single sentence rang like a church bell. It's the #1 point Bungie must remember about dealing with us, their community. In the absence of information we will assume the worst because we have not been given a reason not to.

  • Dude quit you're bit**ing, the games great. Just because you can see it doesn't mean you can't play it, just not yet. In fact it's letting us know that the game isn't done yet when you think you're done. There's obviously plans to have such areas unlocked in dlc or events they have which means there's going to be more for the fans of it to play, so if you hate it so much stop playing. I'm excited for the fact that there's planets and stuff on the map that aren't unlocked yet that means that I've still got a lot more of this game to play. Bungie with there fan base and budget are not stupid and going to put something inside the actual game that isn't going to be available at some point. This video is absolutely stupid I couldn't watch anymore
so if you hate it so much stop playing
I've never indicated this. I believe you are making the mistake of auto-associating critique with negativity. Sadly this has become a by-product of our every gets a trophy approach to society. Critical analysis is crucial to improvement of... anything. To state that simply I require an explanation beyond "you are being trolled internet" when it comes to important questions about product advertised versus product delivered does not immediately correlate to negativity. It indicates critical thinking.

  • No I am not associating anything. I'm simply saying that you're whining, so if you're gonna whine just don't play. They don't owe us an explanation because there's unplayable content in the game that you can see, it'll be available at some point. Who cares if it's a money making tactic it's a smart thing to do. Were still gonna get more game missions maps etc so there's nothing to whine about

  • I just wanna leave this here. Its a video again by the Batman. It relates to why console exclusives are very 'toxic', as people like to say around here, for ALL of us! I'm a PS4 player by the way and honestly get no satisfaction from having access to more in game content than those on Xbox. Its also as entertaining as the other vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qy4Crmv073M&list=PLLeN1O8-rQ0iXwoDP66i0LKprtdwzte7V&index=6

  • The only thing I have to say is, just because the two areas are fully BUILT doesn't mean they were ready. Meaning they needed extra time to finish all the coding for the actual missions. And even if they are completely finished and playable, you've got to realize that having dlc in a game increases playability greatly. People that stopped playing but have a season pass will come back to play the dlc. Because they finished the dlc before release doesn't make them scumbags, it makes them productive. They have their reasons. They're bound by contracts. Not everything is as simple as it seems

  •
they needed extra time to finish all the coding for the actual missions
Which begs the question why was Destiny's launch not delayed given that there are unfinished missions and completely absent lore than a few months could have fixed?

  • They couldn't delay destiny they were already Havin so many issues just keeping the product ready for launch financially. That's why activision what braught in and like it says in the video the story line looks like it has been drastically changed meaning those areas could have possibly been story no longer a part of the game. If destiny hadn't launched we never would have gotten it.

  • If you notice, I was only stating possibilities. Taking "they needed extra time etc" and only that quote is taking it out of context. I'm not bungie. I don't know their issues and reasonings. I'm only saying it's unfair to demand content now because parts of it are on the disc. Dlc is made in advance. Just like the game is made in advance. Saying because part of it is on the disc means you deserve it now is like saying "they completed Earth before the game is released so I deserve to be able to play earth now before it's set release.

I said I'd like an explanation, not free content delivered to my door. I am not naive enough to think that Bungie would offer free DLC and that if they did they would be able to maintain high enough profits to meet forecasts.

  • I understand. To be clear, not to you in particular but in general, dlcs, complete or incomplete, are on a lot of discs at launch. Aside from the lack of invisible walls making it possible to access said extra areas, this would not be an issue at all. People are blowing this way out of proportion. Bungie is only doing their job like every other video game company. Only bungies getting called out on it for no reason

  • I think one of the reasons Bungie is getting called out is because they used to be one of the White Knights and this is like the terribly scripted and acted turn to the Dark Side in 30 seconds moment from Revenge of the Sith.

  • I'm going to disagree with the on-disc content being a relevant argument for a couple of reasons. 1) They've stated numerous times that a) The discs were pressed MONTHS in advance and b) that development on the DLC started well before launch. If you combine B with a little a, you get those areas existing on the disc. Regardless of their existance, they were removed from the original release for a purpose. That doesn't mean we're entitled to them in any way/shape/form/function. I give you BF3/4, purposefully removed completed areas for Premium only AND later DLC packs. I give you Assassin's Creed 1-4, notorious for having unfinished areas on the disc that were later removed and made into DLC's. I give you Bioshock -- Had entire areas on all of the media and later were made into DLC's because they didn't fit with the main story. My point here is two-fold. 1) You have no idea when this content was produced so, it could have legitimately founds it way to the disc having already BEEN a planned DLC and 2) This is actually standard for this industry...Even Halo is "guilty" of doing such a thing...Yet, you'd rather point a finger at Bungie. If you're going to start a war with this precedence you better be ready to fight because I can go back as far as the Atari with examples of finished content being removed pre-launch...In fact, I can name a few games pre 2000, that were re-flashed AFTER packaging and the repackage was horrible because of that. Your premise is an assumption because we don't know when the discs were pressed AND we don't know if that content is free, on the DLC or not...You're simply guessing.

  • Again, 100% an opinion. Destiny is an mmo for all intents and purposes therefor, it will never be finished per the definition of an mmo.

LOL. This has been happening since the dawn of gaming. Metroid, Super Mario, Donkey Kong...Every single game in the history of our industry has had content CUT before launch. Every single game. - Let that sink in a little bit. This practice is how the industry works. Changes are made to the final product after the media is pressed...This is 100% normal. Bethesda cut Dawnguard, which we played at E3, from Skyrim and later launched it as a paid DLC -- Did you march on Bethesda? Witcher, cut a significant amount of content that later became a DLC. BF3/4 - Obvious is obvious. Bioshock Borderlands 2 and the pre... Metro Infamous Every single game up there either had content cut permanently, or content cut, re-worked and later dropped as a DLC. If you're going to point a finger at Bungie, it's all or nothing, it's 2K, Irrational Games, EA, Bethesda and everyone else OR nothing. This isn't a class "let's learn how to be hypocrites 101" this is the truth of this industry. You can take it, continue to buy games and just get over it...Because populating an area in Destiny is significantly more work than creating that environment or, you can sit here and bitch about a practice that's never going to change. There was over an hour cut from Wolf of Wallstreet...I don't see the pitchforks to reclaim your precious missing content...Where are the torches?
