I especially liked the "Black Hole" theme of my first Rocket Launcher idea, I hope you guys enjoy them too! (Hopefully in-game someday :D) Feel free to share your ideas! I will continuously update this with more of my ideas and edit in ideas from you guys I think are both realistic and amazing (I'll credit you of course). However, I stress that all my ideas are realistic and aren't over-powered in any way if you completely analyze its pros and cons in all its practical situations. Also, realistically, exotics have 2 perks (sometimes an initial one under damage type, making 3 [Icebreaker, Invective, Bad JuJu]) and the 1st one is always a standard perk followed by a 2nd "bizarre" one. But don't let that stop you from sharing your idea of an auto rifle that fires rockets. Just understand that that will never happen, lol. I encourage you to share any idea; I encourage you even more to share a realistic idea, as it may open an eye for Bungie and boom: a new exotic!     I saw no guns with automatic abilities like Icebreaker so here are a few: [b]Vigilance - Exotic Shotgun (Arc Damage)[/b] [i]As Heimdall keeps his unending watch over the Bifrost, the Guardians must keep their's over the city.[/i] [u]Innate Ability:[/u] Ready-Up - This gun reloads 1 shell per 2 seconds while stowed. [u]Perks:[/u] 1. Third Eye - The map remains up while aiming. 2. Vigilance - An enemy hit by Vigilance shows an outline for a brief time through solid objects. [b]Fear & Loathing - Exotic Heavy Machine Gun (Void Damage)[/b] [i]We were somewhere around Ishtar on the edge of the city when the Darkness began to take hold.[/i] [u]Innate Ability:[/u] Fear: This gun (very slowly) regenerates bullets to it's clip. This gun has no reserve ammo. [u]Perks:[/u] 1. Persistence - This weapon grows more accurate the long its fired. 2. Loathing - Enemies damaged by this weapon receive 1% more damage for each bullet that previously damaged it within the last 5 seconds. [b]Children's Story - Exotic Auto Rifle[/b] [i]“When you see someone putting on his Big Boots, you can be pretty sure that an Adventure is going to happen.” ― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh[/i] [u]Innate Ability:[/u] Imagination: Every time this gun is reloaded there is a chance for it to turn into an elemental damage type. [u]Perks:[/u] 1. Glass Half Full - Bottom half of magazine deals more damage. 2. Happy Ending - Bullets that deal damage to enemies with 25% or less health are added directly back to the magazine. EDIT: [b]Breadth of Experience - Exotic Sniper Rifle (Arc Damage)[/b] [i]You can be born with skill, but wisdom comes with age.[/i] [u]Innate Ability:[/u] Breath - While crouched with this weapon you no longer show up on radar. [u]Perks:[/u] 1. Performance Bonus - Kills with this weapon grant bonus reserve ammo. 2. Experience - Rounds over-penetrate targets and cause enemies in a small area around hit targets to take partial weapon damage. (Idea stolen from DeCenzerr)

    The Borderlands Patrol- exotic shotgun "Out here, the good die young, and the evil, well they just keep dying forever." 1. Shot package 2. Full squad: when aiming down sights, has a chance(30%) to triple the pellet count and cause 1.5x precision damage Balance: higher than normal damage drop off, and reduced range, can be modified by other perks, but not too much. Clip size is three. Average rate of fire and medium recoil I feel like this would be a legendary in Borderlands, so here it is for Destiny

    • Don't know what I'd call it but an exotic hand cannon that made precision kills return the shot back to the magazine. Theoretically never having to reload.

    • OP Bullet Thrower-Assault rifle "The killer of forum whiners , destroyer of nerfs...." Super fast fire rate Low impact Stability is 1/2 Fast reload Perk 1: ammo vacuum: increases the range in which you pick up ammo Perk 2 : Bullet thrower: this gun only does head shot dmg. Body shots do not do any dmg.this gun never needs to be reloaded it shoots right out of reserve

    • Good thread, 10/10 Why? May I make 1 suggestion consider adding to op if this hasn't been brought up yet. Use all of these. Balance as needed. Add 100 exotic weapons and cut the drop rates on them in half. Include this in the dlc. We need more content for it to be feasabl and for the love of god more pvp gametypes i.e. ctf, koth, oddball, all with Destiny spins.

    • I always thought Destiny would benefit from adding some additional weapon classes to the game (would open up more Exotic potentials). If that isn't possible however, there are two guns I would absolutely love to see in the game. [b]Light Caster - Exotic Auto Rifle (Special)[/b] "I had to send a clear message, the stream of burning light was my message to those piles of dust" [u]Weapon Trait Perks (Has these at the start)[/u] 1. Element (Selects a random element when weapon is earned) 2. Streamline: Weapon does not have ammo, but has a heat meter. Using this weapon generates heat which must be removed by cooling to continue using the weapon. Using too much heat will result in an overheat which prevents firing until all heat is removed. [u]Weapon Skill Perks (Unlocked by Progression)[/u] 1. Fusion Battery: Cooling down this weapon takes 25% less time. 2. Unstable Power: Damage caused by Light Caster has a 20% chance of applying a DoT effect to enemies. 3. Light Caster: This weapon is permanently enhanced with a secondary element effect. The Light Caster would be an exotic auto rifle that goes in the special weapon slot. This weapon does not behave like an auto rifle, holding down the fire trigger creates a continual directed energy beam while the fire trigger is held which damages enemies that touch the beam. [b]Glare of Storms - Exotic Rocket Launcher (Heavy)[/b] "If my voice is thunder, then my glare is lightning." [u]Weapon Trait Perks (Has these at the start)[/u] 1. Arc: This weapon does Arc Damage 2. Storm Generator: Weapon does not use ammo, but heat. This weapon charges up before firing, and firing the weapon overheats the gun. [u]Weapon Skill Perks (Unlocked by Progression)[/u] 1. Annihilator Battery: Firing the weapon only generates 50% heat 2. Glare of Storms: The projectile's explosion creates an electrical void which arcs electricity at nearby enemies for a short period of time. The Glare of Storms would be a very unique rocket launcher weapon that doesn't fire rockets. Instead this is a portable railgun weapon that charges up for ~3 seconds when holding the trigger and then unleashing a high powered shot at enemies causing massive damage to impacted targets. The damage zone would fall off quickly compared to a rocket where it's a large explosion. Just two of my ideas, if you like what I've got here, I could provide many more. :)

      • I was thinking about a 3rd heavy weapon. Something like a flame thrower but no fire, maybe shoots out hot ionized plasma mist that disintegrates like the fusion rifle targets do.

      • You guys know there is a 99% chance that they're going to make a "Build Your Own Exotic" competition right? Almost all games that focus on weapon customization get em. Don't post your idea's here, wait for the competition and enter them then. Other then that, good ideas.

        How about finally having some melee weapons as exotics, like the Sword of Crota, imagine how cool it would be to pick up a Cabal shield from a phalanx and run around using that? Each would have a strange and cool effect and function similar to the relic from VoG, your grenade and super is replaced with a specific ability, and each gives you a degree of damage resistance, because you have to run at something shooting you in the face. Just a few examples: [b]Dregs Delight[/b] [i]"Fashioned from a fallen dregs shock dagger, this powerful shank delights the fallen with every kill" [/i] Obviously a melee weapon and will do arc damage as its element. Abilities: [b]Shocking:[/b] The blade of the weapon becomes electrified, and stuns enemies that are struck by the weapon for a short time. (Replaces class "grenade", fairly quick cooldown time) [b]Energy Wave[/b]: The user slams the ground with the weapon sending a wave around them causing little damage but leaves the enemies writhing. (Replaces class super, and has has a medium cooldown time) This weapon doesn't offer dps up front but it very useful for crowd control as someone can just run in and stun everything. [b]Endless Suffering[/b] [i]"This blade is the embodiment of death, and those that look upon it are blinded by fear"[/i] A scythe of some sort that does void damage when abilities are activated other no elemental damage. Abilities: [b]The Reckoning:[/b] Your guardian puts out a field of pure darkness blinding enemies for a brief time and doing damage over time (replaces Grenade, medium cooldown). [b]The Hunger [/b]: The blade begins to stun enemies briefly on hits and major bonus damage and void damage at the cost of your characters health, kills replenish your health, lasts for say 20-30 seconds.(Replaces Class Super, Long Cooldown) To say this is possible in coding, it would give your guardian the poison debuff, and then use a buffed version of the Red Death's ability. Solar weapon under construction

Appearance: A traditional styled revolver, blued steel, and a solid round cylinder. [b]Midas Weave[/b] - Hunter Gauntlets "My enemies are always within a golden flame." Golden Gun shots create a beam, and linger in the air for a short time damaging those who cross them. Appearance: Form fitting woven cloth, with golden thread in intricate patterns from finger tips to shoulder. [b]L-1F-AN7 Rifle[/b] - Sniper Rifle, no element, primary slot "This Pre-Golden Age rifle was tasked with taking down big game. It's good nothing has changed." Primary slot sniper rifle. Has no scope, high impact, and slow ROF. Appearance: A polished steel barrel with scroll detail and a wooden stock with tally marks etched into the butt. [b]Fancy Footwork[/b] - Hunter boots "These persistent boots once belonged to the first Hunter that scouted the Buried City." While reloading your movement speed is increased, but not as fast as sprinting. While sprinting, your melee recharge speed is increased. Appearance: embroidered leather boots with silver spurs, also when you land from a fall they make a "clink" sound. [b]Chimera[/b] - Hand Cannon "No rest for the wicked." Every shot behaves as an explosive round, also every shot has a small chance to have a random element instead. Appearance: A pure white revolver with black accents. [b]Door Knocker[/b] - Shotgun, solar "I asked who was there, I was greeted with no response." Two shot before reload, high spread, very high impact, and quick reloads. Appearance: A double break barreled side-by-side shotgun. No frills.

      • I had a post similar to this where I introduced the idea for The Autograph Scout Rifle. The perks are active radar, and the ability to switch between elements. Sunglasses: Adds Solar only damage Sunglasses at Night: Can switch to Void only damage. Electric Personality: Can switch to Arc only damage. It would not be an OP weapon, but a weapon that the player can switch elements on. I would love that.

        The Unknown One-"They may not know me now, but soon they will" Scout rifle, slow fire rate, very high impact Full Auto- has the ability to be fired in full auto Unknown- all bullets from the second half of the magazine have a chance to "brain wash" the enemy, making him fight for you. "Does not apply to bosses"

      • Wolf void-exotic hand cannon " the wolf or is it the void"? Void damage Perk1: damage with this woe pan increases stability. Perk2: kill with this weapon creates a black hole effect sucking enemies to it while doing 10 percent of European Dmg for 3 seconds.

        Some of these weapons look okay...some of them look awful, but just about every perk and every gun need a different name and description. EG: [b]Negotiation - Exotic Hand Cannon[/b] "I'll take your life, and you'll take my bullets. Deal?" Not only reads like it was written by my 14 year old anime-loving nephew, but it also sounds far too much like "Devil You Know" with the description, "Let's make a deal", which is [i]also a handcannon[/i] ingame. [b]Fair Trade - Exotic Hand Cannon[/b] "Educate your foes on the finer points of capitalism..." Sounds much better. 'Points' having a double meaning for your rounds, 'capitalism' being a form of economical government where the people negotiate trade with minimal government involvement (United States)...etc. But many of these guns are a good idea, I just think the writing is underwhelming.

      • Halitosis - Exotic Sniper (Kinetic: Bolt Action sniper with 1 bullet in the chamber and highest impact out of all snipers) "Is it you or I who can't breathe?" Perks: 1. Bad Breath - Critical hits paralyze enemies for a short period of time. 2. OHK - Critical hits do bonus damage Fission and Fusion - Exotic Rocket Launcher (Solar) "Some men just want to see me burn the world" Perks: 1. Napalm - Rockets leave burning effect around the area of impact 2. Nuclear - Enemies killed from burning effect explode upon death Number Cruncher - Exotic Pulse Rifle (???) "12484058+1472308=????? PROFIT!!!" Perks: 1. Exponential Logarithm - At full health, bullets do bonus damage to the body and 2x bonus critical damage 2. Random Number Generator - After every kill, bullets alternate between Kinetic, Solar, Void and Arc

      • I like these a lot! I have one too. Master Chiefs Revenge (Exotic Hand Cannon) "So...what sort of weapon is it" Kinetic Damage Perks: Send it: Increases Range Strength of the Chief: You take less damage when aiming down sights.

      • I've got 2 for you, Walker originals. Fountain of Death - Exotic Machine Gun (Void Damage) "As they drank from the black chalice, they delivered their allies' demise." Perks: 1. Vacuum 2. Fountain of Death - Kills with this weapon have chance of generating primary and special ammo directly into the user's inventory. (The amount of ammo generated would be small, but noticeable) The Inside Joke - Exotic Shotgun (Arc/Solar/Void Damage) (Each Particle has a random element type) "You wouldn't understand, you had to be there. Of course if you had been, you'd be dead right now." Perks: 1. Comedy Club - The lower your health is, the faster your reload speed. 2. The Punchline - There is a 50/50 chance that the final round will launch double pellets. I'm open to tweeking the ideas, if you want to talk about them feel free to message me here or add me on psn, same username as here on bungie, I've also made some suggestion posts of my own that have been very popular. Good luck either way, your ideas are great, hope some make it through . I also had some ideas for exotic armor based on the bosses that drop them, like gauntlets that drop from Valus T'aaric that give the Titans' shoulder charge an explosive effect, or gauntlets from Sepiks Prime that boost Warlock void melee damage.
