"I Only Kill Oracles"
I had someone tell me this during a raid last night when I told them to take left plate.
I asked 'em, "What do you plan on doing when they patch the raid and change it to random teleports and you have no idea what to do when it comes to the other positions?" [i]It's not like it's rocket science, but still.[/i]
He said, "I go on bnet everyday and I didn't see anything about that." I booted him from the fireteam and we beat it with 5 players.
Point is, learn the other positions... learn them all. It makes rotating to a different position very easy when something bad happens (deaths). You'll also be ready for when they patch the raid. Too many times have I seen people being told, "You're doing this." or "I need you for this. Go here." and they're like, "I only kill oracles."

I'm happy I've learnt all roles before something like this. It's better to learn every single aspect of the raids, rather than one single role. Good job on kicking the guy personally, seeing as he'd just give you all some grief.

I was on oracle duty on my only run and I really wanna do every position. I did the relic once on Atheon for a little. It was fun. That guy sounds clueless

6 RepliesWell there are reasons for that. Typically Titans do relic when warped because they are the tankiest, while 2 gunslingers use their supers on the adds/oracles. You can have warlocks on the outside working the gates because of their self revive, they can handle it much easier. You play a role in a role playing game. You look at your fire teams weapon set up and tell them where to go where they can shine. Typically if you got people with Atheon's epilogue you would have them defending conflux and such, anything with a Preatorian. It's more a matter of efficiency. With the recent patch incoming no one will ever take an inexperienced player into the raid.

2 RepliesWow, so it would have took a min of your time to tell him hey this is what u do here and this happens here and so on. We took 2 new vog guys through the whole raid last night and it was there first time doing it. Guess your not the teacher type, should make that clear when making a team instead of kicking someone from vog. Must be a teenager since that's what most teens do. Kick someone then makes a post on it.

In my clan I'm usually on the right side with the templar I usually stay out of the time stream at the templar and the right plate at the praetorians to open the vault. I took some new guys through the other day and have them my spot explained everything and took the other positions I was new at just because I know it will be random one day and I want to learn all aspects. We bear the raid in 1.5 hours and I was the only guy who had done it before. Leaving every aspect is great so you can teach it to the new guys I look forward to the new raid and everything being new again for me

10 RepliesI hate players who just can NOT adapt. I did the hard raid earlier this week. We were on the gatekeeper, and the raid leader said that he needed a titans help. Someone called out that he was a titan. Great, stick a defensive bubble here please. To EVERYONES surprise, he responded that he was not only a striker, he was striker only and had never bothered to even play his defender so he did not have access to his disco bubble yet. He was level 29. I don't understand this mentality at all.

I read this earlier and didn't comment, but reading the title again and just thinking of hearing "I only kill oracles" has me crying. Lmfaooooooooooo that's like being in a nightfall strike and saying "I only press X to release the ghost"

Whilst I can see your reasoning behind booting him (guy was obviously a massive toolshed) if everyone decides to kick players who only play one role instead of trying to teach or reason with them then the number of players who are 'raid viable' is going to be very small. Point is, saying 'learn all the roles' is all well and good but refusing to teach is just as bad as refusing to learn.

Good for u. He should have Ben kicked. No one in a raid has a specific job, you pick a action and when shit hits the fan adjust. People like that are a waist of space, And lack in skill. Just him saying that validates a kick.

I can understand why he said it. I understand, because I do better on oracles and helping shield take out adds.. I feel like it is one of the easier roles and makes it even easier being a hunter with gjallahorn for adds. But everyone needs to know every part so I switch people around so everyone is familiar with each role. Now the group I raid with is almost ready to take on Atheons random teleportations!

Yup. Sounds painfully familiar. Just learn all the stuff, guys! It's annoying when you're organizing the team and spend minutes arguing who's taking which role since the formation changed and people plainly refuse to adapt. (-.-)

Tuesday night we ran through hardmode. One player in our raid had never done normal or hardmode......we explained it and he did just fine. He hadn't even watched videos on the raid because he assumed he wouldn't ever have the time to put in to beat it. Just explain if needed and everything is fine.

2 RepliesHate when relic holder goes down, and i say pick up the relic. Guy picks it up, and says how do i clense!? This raids is been out for weeks and im still running into ive never done this part before. Or idk what to do in there or here. Then, i cant hae relic idk how. Im all for everyone learning positions. Makes you usefull as a raider
