I had someone tell me this during a raid last night when I told them to take left plate.
I asked 'em, "What do you plan on doing when they patch the raid and change it to random teleports and you have no idea what to do when it comes to the other positions?" It's not like it's rocket science, but still.
He said, "I go on bnet everyday and I didn't see anything about that." I booted him from the fireteam and we beat it with 5 players.
Point is, learn the other positions... learn them all. It makes rotating to a different position very easy when something bad happens (deaths). You'll also be ready for when they patch the raid. Too many times have I seen people being told, "You're doing this." or "I need you for this. Go here." and they're like, "I only kill oracles."

Next patch guys learn how to use shield ask your raid member how and ask them to let you use it. My fire team was nice enough to let me use it till the end.
-
I don't know why you're getting hate for this. You booted a tool for being a tool.
-
I usualy only do the relic but after the first week the raid had been out i watched as many videos as possible to make sure i knew how to do all roles at any part of the raid
-
you had me at "we booted him and finished with 5 players" <3 brings me back to the days where we carried noobs through heroic content in wow and they actually paid for it
-
I only jump off the cliff immediately and let my team carry me off to victory.
-
Good I would boot him too, if your not willing to listen I'm not going to teach. If your open and ready to listen I'll run you through at 24 but if your a tool I'll send you packing .
-
All I took out from it is that you are a dick that instead of trying to explain something to fellow raider you'd rather push him off the cliff and have someone already in the known take his place right away.
-
i only kill fallen to bad i dont see any fallen in the raid guess im not shooting
-
My pet peeve are the ones that start bitching about so and so didn't. Know what to do or there level is too low. But I always end up responding the ass who says that all the time then leaves the team. Or even better boots me or another player because things aren't going their way when you join. (As if I was there when you went over the plan you had when asked to join.) just yesterday I did a half ass raid and didn't finish it do to most of us being new to it or lower levels but was the most fun I've had doing the raid.

I completely defend your stance on booting. If I'm with some randoms and one won't fall in line I boot them and if they were on my friends list they are gone. There is no room in this game for punks that can't be a team player. I had to boot a guy once in the raid because he refused to use glide for his Warlock because "I am a blink player, you can't tell me how to play." Well after the 5th time the supplicants detonated on him because he couldn't jump on the pillar he was gone forever. If you are a newbie or playing with a different team just let them know if you haven't done something and then take instruction on it. Also don't criticize the leader if they use a slightly different strategy, you may suggest an alternative but back down if they tell you they have tried it and don't like it or have had success with their current strategy. Your job as fireteam leader is to lead as many people through as you can and that may mean cutting off the problem.

Edited by Joewrx: 10/23/2014 2:45:32 PMPeople who kick people from raids shouldn't be allowed to lead Edit: your name has Ninja in it. That explains it all...kek

Edited by Vits: 10/23/2014 8:42:50 AMTeach them how to do it. It takes all about 30 seconds to explain the entire fight... I consider myself an elitist so I try and fill my raids with people who've done it before right from the get-go to avoid this so I can get it done as quickly as possible... But if somebody doesn't know how to do it for any reason I always try n teach em how. Your sitting here saying people should learn all roles, yet you boot them instead of helping them. You're a douche plain n simple.
-
I know all the roles, but I am terrible with the relic haha. Before the sniper spots got taken away I knocked off 3 team mates during the fight.

Then when I got experience doing the raid I kept getting better. I never used to do the relic bc I didn't know how to use it then I got a chance to use it I liked it more responsibility but my fireteam members wanted me to use the relic everytime we did the raid. I know every role in the raid and I am willing to teach new people every role. When I beat the raid once in the week with my regular team then I play with people who have never played the raid and get them experienced. Basically the point is booting someone that only knows one role is stupid bc eventually they need to learn all the roles. I am pretty sure if he didn't get teleported it wasn't hard to tell him u stand in the circle and shoot the God damn supplicants from somewhere high. Then once the times vengeance comes u shoot the boss simple.
-
I like the way you think. I agree completely with you.
-
I really don't see what all the fuss is about. Honestly during the Atheon fight at least 1 or more people get teleported that aren't in the "portal group" because they took to long getting to the back wall. Guess what it's going to be exactly the same. Sorry but I've been lmao since the announcement. Is it really that hard to press L1 to cleanse or press R2 to shoot oracles?
-
"I only do everything for everyone because they never do a damn thing or listen" That should be my line.
-
I've done just about every part of the raid. The only one I think takes some practice to get used to is running the relic. Other than that it isn't bad. Just pick up where your team needs you, not what you want to do. "Not my job" doesn't work here.
-
Clearly, there are allot of folks here who don't understand what it takes to lead a raid. Probably also the same people who enjoy the hand holding through them. Good job, OP. A team player is much more valued over someone who can only perform one function properly. He could have easily tried to do something else.
-
I say I usually do oracles. However am more than happy to do outside and have had to do the relic sometimes too. Agree versatility is king.
-
It's easy. Even beating atheon on hard is the easiest thing to do in hard lol.
-
Kinda a dick move...
-
Lol that's great. Bet he'll take that plate next time.
-
It's a team effort if he doesn't wanna take up slack and work as a team, boot and go.
-
You're a bad leader.
-
You don't boot someone for that. Ever.
