no-one else wondering if these fragments are left from the whole, 'the traveler was going to be a bad guy before the rewrite twist' and he bought the darkness, thus making the nine the goodies, you were betrayed, and the need for the nine to bring you into their alliance. "i have information, but i do not know if it's meant for you yet."
my interpretation so far was our golden age was us taking over the other races and space, bringing them the "light" (very cult/ religious). And the darkness was the resistance to us. probably did want to destroy us, and the traveler created the ghosts to help mankind survive the war. I also wonder how clear the story is with these strands from one story line that was scraped but already half formed in the very core of the game, to try and match up the new story/direction they want to take destiny. i think its gonna leave some fragments of the old story and contradictions behind.
though i don't expect to ever know the full story of this destiny universe. I don't think the producers and current writers even know it fulyl themselves at the moment. and even if they did, based on performance so far, I doubt they can convey it in the game and instead will just use grimoire cards. Shame, I don't know why the change of direction....I bet a beer though what ever the reason for the change of direction and what ever they expected it to achieve... it failed.
