Yeah it's a dumb glitch you have to restart it on normal then when you get to the first check point you can leave and set the difficulty back to heroic
Pressing restart then selecting a higher difficulty doesn't work 😔

You have to use the X button, [] on PlayStation, when choosing the difficulty level also.
